Major General's & Colonel's Review 2019. (Re-edited)

The arrival of the Guards bands and troops taking part in this years Major General's and Colonel's Review.
I've re-edited the clips to combine both views, the bands arriving from the Mall and onto Horse Guards. Basically just an excuse for messing about with the video editing software.

Question ... cannot find an answer ....... why do most bands men wear a belt ..... yet some have no belts at all ??

RipGhyll The reason why some musicians look like they don't have belts is because some wear Scarlet aprons. They do this so that the buttons on their tunics don't get torn off and to keep their tunics in good shape, because of the constant contact from the instrument and their tunics. The aprons wrap around the waist where their belts are, so it looks like they aren't wearing belts. The musicians who wear aprons are, Percussionists (Bass Drummer, Side Drummer, and Cymbalist) Saxophonists Bassoonists Tubists Euphoniumists Oboists Sorry for the extremely long essay! Hope this helps!

I didn't realise the Bands are still wearing SLR bayonets and frogs

Bayonets predate SLR. Used to be allowed to help polish my old Dad's bayonet scabbard whilst he blancoed belt and bayonet frog. Grooming the bearskin was always funny to me as a little boy. I remember him with a button stick polishing away in the days before stay right!

The bandsmen with bugles aren't wearing bayonet frogs: they have military fifes. I don't know the correct term but those are "holsters" for those fifes.

Drum Majors only wear the "Golden Uniform" in the presence of Her Majesty.... Some of the Drum Majors are wearing ordinary red tunics, obviously filmed on one of the previous two rehearsals. you really have got a real mix

어떤 분야 이건 과학적 근거에서 연지니어는 만들어 지지요. 아무리 하찮은 대장간에 대장장이도 대단히 숙면되어야 그저 하나 나올까 말까이에요 실제 불빛을 알아야 하니 쉽지 않아요. 이 회부가 용광로의 불빛으로 같아요. 이것을 디지탈이라는 명목으로 없애고 센서로. 큰일납니다. 용광로 버려요. 이런데 인건비로 문제가 되어 센서로 바꾸고 인건비 줄였으니 과학화라고 합니다. 이는4차산업 안돼요. 큰일날 일이지요. 이래서 엔지니어는 보호해야 하서요. 또 그 관리인 우선 관리하고. 차후 제대로 되면 고향으로. 공산당 아주 사람을 인간사 안한 사람은 관리되나 그저 추종자는 생각하여 고향으로 되돌려 보아야지요. 하하. 이게 현명합니다. 대장도 할머님이 보면 금방 아시지요. 저도 보면 금방 알아요. 그저 배반을 깔고 울어야. 그거 몰라 볼리가 있어요. 이러면 좋은 사회 찾을 수가 있어요. 하하.

No, this is the Colonels review, in this case the colonel is a Royal Colonel, the Duke of York, that is why the dm’s are wearing ceremonial dress.

@@kennethsewell4245 No problem, I keep trying to get to the Queens birthday parade but haven't been successful in the ballot yet. In the meantime the two practise reviews will have to suffice. Guess the Duke of Cambridge will be the Royal Colonel next year now.

There are three reviews on consecutive weekends. 1st is the Major Generals review. Done my the Major General commanding London district. 2nd is the Colonels review, attended by the Royal Colonel of the regiment trooping it’s colour 3rd is trooping the colour in the presence of The Queen.
