This inspired me to recover our waiting room chairs rather than replace them. They’re so retro looking and we’ll constructed unlike so much you find now. You did a great job on those I just wish you gave yourself as much credit as we did. The pleats didn’t look bad at all.

I got out some part finished chairs that I had abandoned in the loft because of the backs. But having seen you push on and get it done I feel encouraged. You are the only example of🎉 someone attempting this type of challenge, so well done.

I think the chair came out perfect! I did my Mom’s dining room chairs a while back...for the corners, I brought up the corner first and stapled and then did each side and stapled. I don’t think it reduced any of the bulk from the fabric but it gave the finished corners a really pretty look. Can’t wait to see how the second chair comes out!

That sounds like a good way to do it too! Haha I was just going with the flow 😂 I can’t wish to have the finished set and I plan to redo the side table too soon and will show the complete reveal!

I have these same chairs and looking to use them as accent chairs. Can you tell me what type fabric you used? My chairs have an old cream leather. Thank you

I’m sorry I’m not sure exactly what I used. It’s a heavy fabric that would be used for drapery or seat cushions. It’s doesn’t really have a stretch to it. I honestly just went to the sales rack and found a colour/texture that I liked.

Thank you for this video. I found 3 chairs (same style/color) on FBM for free! The cushions are filthy and stained, but I figure since the price is right, if they didn’t turn out like I expected, who cares! I was only out the price of redo materials. My question-since I’m painting instead of staining, do I urethane after 2-3 paint coats? Or, can I just sand and paint? Many thanks. Your chair looks fabulous in the room

You're welcome! Sorry for the late response. You can sand and paint (I'd say at least 2 coats) and then depending on the paint you are using (some do not require you to seal) I would absolutely suggest sealing with a 1-2 coats of urethane!
