I put down cardboard first, then weed barrier and iit has kept grass and weeds out for the last three years. Plus, I was able to use a lot of those Amazon boxes. The cardboard is biodegradable so it will need to be replaced eventually but it's holding up well. I didn't even clear the grass. I just put down the cardboard and it kills whatever is under it. I love that it has been maintenance free for years.

I'm surprised that you didn't put it on the other side by the BBQ for dining outdoors. But then again, eventually your dream is the view on that side, so after dinner, it will be a fire lounge. Looks great. In a pinch it can be a massive communal tent for company to camp, LOL. ( 60's flashback)

I would want it raised so the curtains aren't touching the ground where they can get wet, muddy, or mildew later. Will the legs rust being on the ground or will you put something under them for protection from the rain and snow? I LOVE it. It looks so nice and you will really enjoy it.

Not like the one SLR put up. SLR used clear silicone on the joints so when it rained the gutters wouldn't leak. I didn't see any silicone laid out? Maybe your style won't need it? Same company but definitely different.
