@@bqw2094 This is coming from a marine (what major Payne was ) modern eating is a social event. you get to eat things that make you happy. for the majority of human history, you got to eat if you were lucky and for most of us that was only things that kept you alive. the modern military still teaches that eating is a part of life and needs to be as fast and effeicant as possible. if you watch a fresh soldier or marine eat they tent to scarf down as soon as they can because that's what they were taught. In 1995 part of the comedy was Major payne was such a badass marine that he never got away from that. and he eats in like 2 seconds

You know, it's interesting to watch this movie as an adult. Beneath all the choo choo trains and jokey-jokes there's a story of a man damaged by his military career but (as it turns out) not completely broken. It's the scenes of him dancing with skill and precision like that that make you think who major was before his life in the army. How fun he was to be around. How much of it the war took away.
