Plus, I am one of those that will need to save for the class, so I appreciate you for that. For your son's paintings I said, "black hole," immediately when I saw the first painting! That sort of appearance happens in a binary star system. When one star goes supernova and collapses into a black hole, it begins to siphon the material from the surviving star. The material swirling around the event horizon of the black hole is like a visual of time. In that moment it both exists and doesn't exist. Because time dilation causes us to still see the star material, after it has already been sucked into the black hole. The last painting reminded me of the impending collision of our Milky Way Galaxy and the Andromeda Galaxy. Which during the process of the collision will have stages that look like his painting. Until the two galaxies become one. There are kind of some metaphors there for divine union.
