Major Shifts | E4, S2 | Keeping up with Katy

The final episode where I take you through the surreal final two EDR races of the year and share my plans for the 2024 season. I was hoping for a less turbulent year but here we are... the major shifts of the bike industry and racing and in my personal life made for a hard to believe end to the year. In March enduro was thriving but come the end of the season everything had changed!! A lesson to stay in the moment and appreciate the here and now!

Katy, I’m in! 🎉 Last June - aged 67 no less - I was shredding Dyfi and all the rest round the U.K. when I had a hugie at BPW. 8 ribs, clavicle, punctured and bruised lung and a big concussion (helmet looked like yours 😂). So, I’ve been taking it easy, looking after my horses (and my body!) and riding them. It’s was too busted to have a plate to match my other one and sadly my clavicle isn’t healing, but seems to work. So, now it’s time to get back on my bike. My new journey is directed to getting coaching at Dyfi this summer, which seems like a goal. Your last two vids, especially, mean I’m going to join you seeing what I can achieve next 🎉🎉🎉

I guess I am going to have to go back and watch the first series of keeping up with katy! ha ha. Was really good to hear how your reflections were on the season. I know that this year has been a really tough one for the bike industry and for racing as well. Perhaps if you had to sit a year out from the EDR then 2024 might not be a bad year considering the calendar of racing isn't as great as it has been. You still going to be doing some Enduro Racing this year? I can think of a few events here in the UK that would be good fun! Really looking forward to seeing what happens next and just wanted to say a big thanks for sharing so much. I can only imagine that its hard to be honest about the emotional lows as much as the physical ones. Look forward to seeing you back between the tapes soon!
