This is exactly what I was looking for. I waste so much time looking for sentiments that are mixed with flowers, leaves and shapes in one set. I am going to use your method. I’m so excited about it. Thanks

I saw this video quite awhile ago, at the time I didn’t have too many stamps so it wasn’t necessary but now it certainly is!! Took me quite awhile to refine the video 😂

Love your idea! I may try to implement a version of this into my organization. The wheels are turning now 😂. I feel good about my current organization which I’ve used for about 10 years. Everything I buy gets scanned in and tagged. I use Picasa which allows me to type an unlimited list of words or phrases into a side bar. It adds it to my file and then it is searchable. The stamps, for instance, all have a name and number (like Stamps Ali Edwards 052, etc) so if I do a search for hearts or words Picasa shows me pictures of every stamp set that meets my criteria and because the file is named to match the P-Touch label on the package, I can pull the stamp set I want in seconds. This way my stash doesn’t overwhelm me because I can find anything I’m looking for. It’s just like a library system. The difference between what it would take to find a numbered book in a section vs every book randomly on bookshelves! 😱

I have 1,000’s of stampin up seat that are wood. I was just thinking about breaking up the sets and doing something like this. Also for my clear sets. I have those in CD cases but the are stuck really well and I’m probably going to have to throw them away. Thanks for sharing I love how the look.

You've convinced me! I started to do this a few months ago but lost my nerve . Like you, I don't want to give any more space to stamp sets. This will also solve my problem with monthly- themed sets that don't correspond to southern hemisphere seasons. Well done, looks amazing.

That’s awesome. I know I have a bazillion stamps that I never use and take up space. I love this idea. And I know I’ll use my stamps more if I don’t have to hunt. Thanks for the inspiration Laura!

I just found you. What a wonderful idea. I only make cards and am a newbie. A lot of what I have aren't that important (name brand) to have to remain together. You nailed it when you said it depends on how you scrapbook. I love the idea of putting like items together. Thank you

I just did similar with all my Ali Edwards embellishments, broke up all my kits....except the stamps. I need to do this! If it works for all other embellishments, it has to work for my stamps too! Thanks for the inspiration!

Newbie here and I LOVE your videos! Quick question....I’ve been scrapping a looooooong time but never been a big stamper. Just now getting into stamping and OMG the different types, brands and color of ink pads are unbelievable as well as the price tag for each! If you were new to stamping, which brand do you think gives the cleanest, crispest, darkest bang for your buck and what colors do you use most often? I really like the crisp edge some ink pads give but also like the darkness vs more of a shadowed light fade look you get with different brands of just black lol...never knew black could be stamped in sooooo many shades! Thanks again and love your organization ideas!! So glad I stumbled across your channel!! 🤗

(( Sorry nobody responded to your questions. From the sounds of it, Kid, you sound more like an “artist” than a “crafter”. You might want to check the variety that The Frugal Crafter has to offer over on her channel. She does have a tendency to talk a mile a minute, but that girl is a wealth of knowledge about MANY artsy things. Enjoy. And be well! 😉👍. ))

I found an app called Color my Life where you can inventory your stamps and search for keywords, manufacturer, or collection and include images of them. I have only used it for the free trial, but finding a particular sentiment or icon has been so much easier! The app would not however, solve the space or keeping only what you will use from a set though. Will have to say I cringed when you split the sets up, and don’t think I would do this.

Hi Laura, Thanks for sharing this video! I’m curious… it’s been a year. Do you regret breaking up your stamp sets? I broke up ,y stamp sets years ago and stored them on sheets that I made ( they were not nearly as nice as your system) and after a few years I went back to storing them by set. But after seeing how you’ve done it here, I’m wondering if I should go back and separate them all again. I really like how neat and tidy your system looks in the end. How has it panned out for you?
@laurawonsik
@laurawonsik 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing that! That's really interesting that you tried it and then un-did it. I do not regret it at all- I use them regularly and am confident that if I had not done it I would be overwhelmed by my stash instead of inspired by it. The plastic sheets going in the sleeves that Ali Edwards/Studio Calico sells make them really sturdy. I know it's a lot of work so it's a risk to try again!!!

Love this! As a public scrapbooker, (just meaning that you share Werth the public) will it bother you that you don't know what set each stamp is from? Like if someone asks, where did you get that "..." stamp and you won't know?

@@4BarbaraJ You, too, might check out the apps available for documenting your stamp stash. 2 options have been suggested here for the purpose. Not sure if either - or some other - may not also inventory other crafty items. “Color My Life” was one. I can’t recall the other, noted in the comments above here.

AT LAST!! SOMEONE E L S E who gets that Crafters HOUSE T O N S of U N U S E D VINYL that serves NO PURPOSE!! “Unseen is FOREVER FORGOTTEN” - and NEVER USED! Sadly, I see no answer to the dilemma but to do as you have in this video - cannibalize my clear stamps and get them segregated into USABLE categories … 😵‍💫 🤦🏼‍♀️. 🤷🏼‍♀️. ‼️
