MAJOR Update on Auto World Victory 400 slot car set

You are preaching to the choir!! Round 2 has replaced my terminal set three times. They are real nice about it. I in the mean time I bought a regular terminal and controller set. Wireless is great in so many ways. I feel the bugs aren’t worked completely though. I was told they updated the victory 400 set so I bought a second set. No problems yet…..

I'll have to give them credit, they were always very attentive to me, to the point that I felt as though I was the only one experiencing these problems. My latest replacement terminal from them seems to have done the trick (knock on plastic, lol!). It has been so nice to have my young grandchildren hold their controller and not have to worry about the cords. Hopefully things continue as is for all of us with these sets. Now it would be nice if they introduced a decent lap timing system, it feels as though their product is ripe for that. Thank you so much for watching and commenting, and continue enjoying the hobby!

Thanks for the update on your set. I had put out several video sharing my experience with the Auto World Victory 400 wireless set, I see you linked to one above which is great. I too received a replacement track, as one of my lanes stopped working. I think it was due to a short across the rails when a car spun out, but I have no way of confirming that. The replacement track piece also exhibited the same random "car continues under power even though I've completely lifted off the throttle" issue. I didn't follow up again with Auto World as I was very disappointed in how they addressed (with me) the track's controller lag issue. To quote the final response I received, "There's just going to be a little lag there." Too bad, as Carrera and Scalextric pull off wireless with no lag whatsoever.

Thank you for documenting what you've experienced with this set. It was your video that inspired me to reach out to Auto World, knowing I wasn't alone or losing my mind (or driving skills Lol). I'm keeping the test track up and will need to keep experimenting with it. I'm planning on setting this up for the grandkids, who are still very young, and hopefully by the time they are ready for competitive racing (which may not be too far from now Lol!) there will be some improvements made to the wireless technology and we will be able to simply swap out the control unit. Aside from that, my go-to track will still be my 30+ year old Tyco track, which is kind of sad to say.

Dennis, very glad to see that Round2 has looked after you by sending a totally new controller track piece to ensure customer satisfaction. I bought my AW Victory back in Jan when I was on vacation just north of you in Boynton. Since then I have brought it back home to Toronto. I use my track a couple times a week especially when multiple grandkids visit. I have not experienced any issue yet. I have upgraded the magnets on the 4 X-Traction cars which has made those specific cars more stable for my inexperienced drivers. BTW I will be @ game 4 tomorrow night @ the FLA Live Arena. Hopefully my Leafs can win @ least one game.

I'm very happy to know that you have not experienced issues with your set. I've seen videos of yours in action and everything looks great, and that is very encouraging! I also want to be able to share this with my grandkids, who are only 3 and 2, but are already familiar with driving (1:32) slot cars. I envision this to be a great introduction to HO, so hopefully it will hold up and not have problems that may discourage them enough to lose interest in the hobby before it even begins. That's the last thing I would want to happen, so fingers are crossed Lol! I'll keep experimenting with it until I know it will be safe to present them with this and ultimately permanently set it up in the garage. I hope you have a fantastic time at the game tomorrow! I do know that it is extremely tough to beat a team that has its back against the wall, so I'm very nervous about this. Plus, I don't think the Leafs have brought their best yet, and they are an extremely dangerous team. This will be a ton of fun to watch (there is NOTHING better than playoff hockey!), and I wish you all the best, but in the end, may the better team win!

Thank you for watching and sharing your comments! They have since sent me replacements that have corrected the issues, but it is curious that they're not releasing them separately. Not sure what will happen when the batteries no longer hold a charge. Hoping something bigger and better will be on the horizon by then. Hopefully!

Hi Dennis. I was wondering if you have tried to run AFX cars on your Victory 400 set with the wireless controllers. I have the same set and noticed by Mega G+ cars will only run on the outside two lanes and not the inside lanes (furthest away from power connector). If I lower the power supply to the very minimum I can get them to work, but it's very inconsistent. Very bummed as our Mega G+ cars are our favorite to race. Let me know, thank you.

I was having the same issue as you concerning the outer two lanes. I emailed Auto World and apparently this was an issue on their earliest versions, which I had. They told me they had corrected the problem and sent me a replacement piece, which has worked fine. (They initially told me to check the connections between pieces, but everything looked fine, even after several attempts of re-connecting and checking, with no luck). We sometimes do have an issue on all lanes when the power is turned over 50% (momentarily cuts out but comes right back), so we try to keep it under that. The Mega G+'s are so fast that it's really not a problem keeping it low, Lol. I eventually want to replace this so that I can use my wired DiFalco controllers, but for now I like the wireless so that everyone is free to roam where they like.

AFX has also had their issues as well lately, unfortunately.
