I have bought the game and played it for 30 hours, I felt asleep a couple times while playing.😂However, I love watching your mind over magic gameplay, I can learn a lot from you. Maybe it will bring me back to the game once again.

Have you played since the latest patches because a lot changed. Also recommend playing on hardest settings, not many dull moments then at all. Thanks for watching!

Damn thats a tight start, I tried a few hard starts but kept losing resources and getting hammered by the fog, didnt have students so only had the weak fog ritual, man Im gonna try another relentless run with a LOT more confidence now :)

Repel system, basics as I understand them: The number is the distance it pushes. The number is affected by type of ritual and wand level (not skill! I.e. a skill level 4, wand level 1 mage, fog pushes as a level 1 wand, not a level 2 wand). Numbers are: small push = 10 x wand level, total value equal to sum of mages’ repel values. Big push = 30 x wand level, total value equal to sum of mages’ repel value. The rituals with more difficult to obtain components allow for more mages so it is easier to keep the fog quite far out. What exactly the ‘distance’ is, I don’t know. I think it is tiles, but I’m too lazy to count. I hope this makes sense.

Hey thanks for this, amazing explanation. So that does matter a lot then for the pushes when thinking about which mages to use.

I think if you copy build a cot that already has your settings, it will keep the access settings. Not sure though 27:57

Yes, I think so.

one thing that i’ve been doing for efficiency is turning off the auto harvest on the grave- i don’t really care about it early and turn it back on later once stabilized not sure if it matters
@azile66610 ай бұрын
Yes it might, never really considered that before.
@ronnymo50110 ай бұрын
This only matters if you are not getting to the mid or late game, when having the extra harvested flowers can make a difference. From an efficiency perspective, the harvesting cost is relatively low (I think equivalent to the tier one plants, but I can’t check right now), and Hallowlilly is one of the more difficult resources to obtain in the game. It is hard enough to obtain that killing off a few students or staff on purpose isn’t necessarily a bad idea, especially if you have some of the more advanced graves. Depending on how you play. The mid- and late game items it is a component in are quite useful and/or powerful depending on how you play.

Just started the game and absolutely love it. Just a quick question however, why do you focus your students with earth wands? Any particular reason?
@azile66610 ай бұрын
Well, at first, because I need to find a pair of Wolfkin Earth Mages to be the front row tanks. Later, I generally do so because Earth wands only cost wood and I am just bringing in students in order to graduate them fast for their scrolls so then I do not really care what the students are.

@@azile666 "because Earth wands only cost wood " Earth wands cost wood *and stone*. Since stone can be a limiting resource in the beginning, I wouldn't spam earth mages. Spam fire mages. Their wand really only costs wood.

Starting characters should be on a point buy system not random
@azile66610 ай бұрын
I agree actually. Either a pick Wand/Race/Medallions or a point type system...anything but a "reroll" system.
@ronnymo50110 ай бұрын
Not on darkness descends. It should just be play with what you get. Maybe one pick or something like that. You don’t need a ‘strong’ set of characters at the start to survive and thrive. I tested this multiple times by just picking the first two offered and, all my failures were due to me misjudging something, not the power of the setup. What I really liked was how the different wands and traits put slightly different pressures on my play which was quite interesting. Easier modes should let you customize to your heart’s content. With that said, a fast Wolfkin air, lightning, or earth mage makes early combat a lot less taxing on your time and resources.

I like the idea of a points system. The harder the difficultly the less points

@@ronnymo501 This works both ways. If you want a true nightmare challenge you have to roll for terrible mages. This process of rolling doesn't make your gameplay fun in any way. in Oxygen Not Included you can start with any character you want and the completion with a terrible start is fun to watch. There are different approaches like max efficiency given X settings.
