I hope selby can get his game back I know he has had some issues he’s a human being after all. I know there is definitely another world title in him. Not taking anything away from O’Connor I think he’s a breath of fresh air for snooker and I really hope he goes far in this tournament

Coming from a big ROS fan i can say that Selby is the biggest overthinker on the table , it's to his demise. I say that as when he does actually play and starts to flow he can be decent to watch

I don’t think he’s rattled, he’s just out of form and it’s doing his head in. Great show of class at the end as you say. Good to see a new name in the championship and hopefully he can keep playing well in the next round.

Selby playing more like Peter Ebdon every season. He has got to shake out of this slow ultra defensive play style. In the end it done for Ebdon's career, Ebdon just got petrified of playing any sort of meaningful shot at the end.

You're right. Ebdon is a bit of a joke these days but he was a decent player. Not the best world champion but he won it nonetheless. His increasingly defensive play ruined his game and it might do it for Selby too.

Good point, made me wonder why top players like Ronnie, Trump, Higgins, all the agressives ones. I forsure know that Selby is one of the best, yet he can't take risks, he want to play perfect snooker (which he does) but playing perfet, doesnt mean you're going to win. Anyway, its just a shame to see him lose today, I think it will be much better to have him in still!

I can't watch Selby live, I come on here to watch the end of his defeats & he seems that whenever there is a pressure Ball to clinch a frame he seems to butcher it. Like the last red. Completely & unnecessarily overhit it. He never did stuff like that previously. Not a Fan but I actually thought he would have a good run here, I actually backed him.

Is there a difference in the cloth at the crucible,alot of players seem to be either leaving it too short or over running it,like their struggling to get to grips with it,the commentators never really give an indepth perspective on it which would help us understand a bit more

I've always thought selby is the worst of the top 10 players. He misses shots that are slightly awkward to often. He's not a good break builder. Sure he has won 4 World championships. But it is because of his safety, and bore his opponents to death. Not talent or taking risks. He's not up there with, Ronnie, Trump, Williams or Higgins.
