beautiful work. I'm making my own truss rod but I' m using an Anchor Nut like Gibson style. Will it work too ?

I am curious to know why you choose to use aluminum for the end that fits on the rod close to the guitar 's body. Wouldn't the aluminum corrode over time due to a process called galvanic corrosion. This is where two dissimilar metals are in contact with each other and in an environment that favors corrosion. I am not sure if the environment under the fretboard will favor corrosion as it is tightly sealed. Also when tightening the truss rod nut, what prevents the rod from spinning since the aluminum washer is not welded to the steel rod. All the Gibson style truss rods that I have seen have the end welded, and the washer is made out of steel to facilitate the welding process. I came here because I I need to replace a broken truss rod in a guitar I recently purchased. I got a replacement on Amazon but will not use it as the diameter of the rod is smaller than the original and I do not want to have to go through the process of having to remove the fretboard again. I think I will have to make it myself as this rod is not very common these days.

There are tonnes of Gibson Les Pauls I would like to XRay and check them out. for the $500 guitars and remodel them back to new. and duplicate Dremel the Fb back and cheat a fake one into a Real.

Hi Michael, Canada for two political terms changed to Metric ( our current PM's father ), to encourage trade with UK and so on, but Alas we are too reliant on the US. Now we use both which is a total waste of time. My private sector work is in imperial, and my civic projects Metric, and we all know which one is better.... However old habits die hard.
