Between the Ananda Stealth [$549] and the Ananda Nano [$599] it seems that the Nano probably offers the better value, since the Nano includes stealth magnets as well as nano diaphragms.

I ended up selling my Sundara for the Focal Clear OG. I have to say am a bit disappointed a in a lot of ways. I think I am going to sell the clears and get the Ananda Nano
@PantsaBear Жыл бұрын
I think people who upgrade from good planar magnetics to another dynamic driver headphone kind of set themselves up for dissapoint a bit. The Focals are "better" headphones, but that planar magnetic feeling is what makes things like the Sundara so different, so when they upgrade to something more detailed, dynamic, etc but doesnt have that planar magnetic feel, it underwhelms them Not blaming you, I did the same thing lol. I learned the lesson that upgraded headphones, while better in some ways, are never better in 100% ways when we're talking about several great headphones already. Always some trade-offs :)

@@PantsaBear yeh when someone swap dynamics and planar, the brain need some time to get used to it. Moreover, the longer one listened, the more time it took. As a consolation, I can say that after listening to dynamic headphones for a long time, planar headphones sound terrible

More disappointed that my 4 year old Anandas were stated as non-repairable as the right hand side died unexpectedly. Support end of life is really short.

I couldn't tell the difference between the XS and the Meze 109 at all in the listening tests. I could tell the differenc between the 109 and the Nano with the Nano not sounding as good as the 109 IMHO. BTW, I was listening to this test on my Edition XX.
@kentnilsson380218 күн бұрын
I love that you give a comparative listening test, even though it is not "true" in the real sence, beacuse of the filtering headphone I am using Aune AR5000. Now I know much better what to expect when I can compare them to someting I know. ❤. So, now I understand how (to me) The Nano has more abrubpt sounds and how this influence how musical I may find them. Also in my ears I think original Ananda has more sub base than XS, but I think base on XS goes stretches a little higher up in frequencies compared to original Ananda and they sound overall sweeter/varmer than the Original Ananda. Andanda Original is a little more lively, exciting and energetic than XS and higher frequencies are not so dampened. Compared to Meze 109 Pro I think XS sound likeable but different and Nano sound a little more "perfect/analytical" in how they sound, but Nano does not sound so musical/pleasing. The brighter Nano are my not be my cup of tea, but the XS that sound somewhat darker/veiled but musical, and also the exciting bassy Ananda Original are likeable. I will go for the XS, they sound sweet. The Meze 109 Pros does sound a little "raw" listening to your recordings, but in real life (my own) are very smooth in most musical genres, still not at all as smooth as the Sennheiser HD 660 S2 though. Thanks!

Right now Hifiman is selling a bunch of refurbs with the Sundara going for $199, Edition XS $329, and Ananda Stealth for $349. Also of note the Ananda Stealth new is on sale for $400. The whole stack seems very aggressively priced right now. This might be in part due to the prediction that it's time to just retire the Ananda but the fact that gave it the "stealth" rework somewhat recently makes that a little puzzling.

Interesting, for me I find the the nano and the xs are sharing lot of sound characteristics with the nano being slightly faster, and that the original ananda have a warmer side that makes it different from the others, different ears I suppose 😊
@2musiclover5347 ай бұрын
XS does sound a bit more organic because of a rounder/fuller/fatter mid bass than the Nano which is faster and leaner sounding with more powerful low bass.

Look I really appreciate the effort you put into making this video I really do and thank you for that. I dont understand why but the differences seem too subtle to put a price difference on it. I dont get it. can you add the original track to compare aswell maybe that will help. Or just use a different track. Is it just me who doesnt seem to hear any difference??

The Nano is the most uncomfortable headphone I've ever worn. You can see how it sits on his head in the video and that he's had to set the strap at the front of his head rather than in the centre. The earpads are swooped back at such an exaggerated angle. That combined with lack of swivel and the weird placement of the headband strap makes it feel like a torture device if you wear it more than an 30 minutes or so. It's just awkwardly and terribly designed from a comfort perspective. Loved the sound for music but everything else about it was awful. I owned them for a month (I owned another pair a week before returning them due to channel imbalance) and no amount of adjusting helped with the terrible comfort. I spent more time adjusting them constantly than being able to enjoy whatever source I was listening to them from.
@charliekill88 Жыл бұрын
I don't know man, I had the ATH-r70x, which was much lighter, and they were only a little more comfortable than the nano, and they were specifically designed for comfort. For such large, bulky headphones, they're pretty comfortable, much more comfortable than other heavy headsets I've owned.
