one little thing you missed in the blood angels is the tendency to develop foresight similar to sanguinius', it is an extension of the angels of baal in a sense but it is a unique power that develops among a select few blood angels, such as corbulo and can develop later in life even if they weren't found to have high psychic potential, it's just not as strong or concentrated as the seemingly single development of night lord foresight. Blood angels are also one of the legions more geared to be psykers, probably because of the multiple warp god influences and because the moons of baal itself were pretty exposed to the warp during the age of strife, so psykers are a bit more common in the population and paired with a more psychically active gene seed the blood angels end up with proportionately high numbers of librarians post finding sanguinius and into the modern era. The ability to utilise psychic dreadnought sarcophagi is also not just an aspect of trust between magnus and sanguinius but its implied you need to be a pretty powerful psyker regardless in order to use one. All legions in theory have access to powerful psykers through naturally occuring psykers but the blood angels can regularly use these machines and have produced a fair few extreme high tier ones, obviously mephiston is a special case but Donatus Galian is also noteworthy, even having a named artefact which could syphon the influence of the red thirst to empower his psychic powers whilst maintaining the balance of dark and light within him. The red thirst is also a little more nuanced, on the genetic level it seems that it's source could be partially due to an overactive omophagea gene seed implant, that being the additional nervous tissue that connects the spinal cord and stomach and allows space marines to relive epigenetic memories of flesh they consume, for blood angels it supposedly produces a euphoric effect, blood being literally addictive. The other aspect of the enhanced omophagea though that isn't talked about to often in discussions of modern blood angels is the fact that it's pretty much solely the reason they became known as the revenant legion pre sanguinius, their commanders and warriors would die on campaigns but one of the more terrifying aspects of the revenant legion was the ability to just come back, the 'same' warriors would show up again the next day and then charge in over and over again until there was nothing left. How this was achieved was by consuming their dead from the previous battle and then doning their armour so it appeared as if they had returned from the dead, but the dark part of that is in some literal sense they did, completely consuming a dead warrior has a stronger effect on blood angels due to the enhanced omophagea, to the point where its even more difficult to distinguish who they were before and after eating the dead. Revenant legion era blood angels might be physically different from one another but they could essentially do full personality and combat skill overrides and therefore stack skills and tactics more efficiently than other astartes of the time. We might say that's a cultural aspect of the revenant legion but it's very much informed by their unique gene seed characteristics because they absorb more information from the things they consume and then stop being able to tell the difference. Another aspect of the gene seed of blood angels thats a bit more niche is that it's got extremely potent transformative effects, way in excess of normal. It can turn a cancer ridden baalite into a perfect human form, and during the days of revenant legion this was weaponised via forced indoctrination into the legion. The tactic was dump them down on a planet thats resisting you, and just leave them there. As they fight, they take casualties, but also capture and covert the population to legionaires rapidly, then rewrite their personality by getting them to consume the astartes casualties as a way of fast training and engineering loyalty. Basically vampire tactics 101, all enabled by unique genetics. Part of what made the revenant legion so disturbing is that they would go onto a battlefield and a month or two later walk out with more legionaires than they started with, most of which who now believe they were astartes sent to the world to begin with. Long and short, cannibalism and war crimes. Sanguinius did sort them out and brought some restraint to the legion after their reformation into the blood angels, but what i've described is the original tactic driven by genetic possibilities not readily available to other legions. Aspects of the revenants still did bleed through even when sanguinius lead the blood angels, but became more ritualised and organisational. You of course have all the blood drinking rituals, but the fact that among the first sphere of the legion the different hosts (such as erelim (angels tears), ofanim (burning eyes), seraphim (sanguinary guard) and keruvim (crimson paladins)) go to war wearing ceremonial armours and almost always wearing helmets of their order (in 30k) and have their identities obscured by accepting names which they could be known by outside of their order separate from the warriors true name is essentially a very similar practice to what the original revenants did. This is a little speculative, but I would wager that part of why the first sphere of the blood angels is so elite even among other legions is because a fair few of the warriors among them were "with" them for a long time, by allowing a newcomer to consume the dead and thus closely approximate them, and therefore retain the skills, experience and at least part of the personality, thus continuing to be reborn through oncoming warriors who's nature is obfuscated by a specific battlefield role, and an inherited name and armour. It wouldn't always be possible to recover dead first sphere given the nature of their assignments and thus new warriors could arise organically as in any other legion, but for outsiders looking in, it's one of the rare cases where a legend has died and the beginning of another legendary warrior who seems to stick around a lot longer than they should after falling in battle. There may be rare beings like dante who are the original and have been kicking around for 1500 years, but I can't trust given the history that older members of the sanguinary guard in any time pre devastation of baal have always been the same dude kicking around in the armour. Perhaps that aspect is lost post heresy and into modern times, I am unsure, but I am certain it was there during the crusade and heresy, especially among the erelim and ofanim (war crimes devision and secret police respectively). Anyway, that's a big deep dive on blood angels and the quirks of their gene seed, but we could definitely go into specifics for other legions, you're absolutely right in that some are more gifted than others on the genetic level, but even in the ones who aren't there are more minor differences that could be expanded upon. Sometimes it's not genetics but more epigenetic, in that certain behaviours will very consistently show through and thus it go on to inform personality and tactics beyond just training under their primarch, others are more strictly genetic, kind of surprised canis helix was not mentioned. Great video though, I enjoyed it, keep up the good work @majorkill

I get what you’re saying but I think for the most part the setting would be the same. In a real world point of view GW isn’t gonna let the emperor die ending the setting and from an in lore, if the traitor primarchs get an extreme advantage, they’d have to pull out some bs hack for the loyalists to win. It’s kinda like saying what if there were more loyalists elements. The traitors loose, the emperor survives intact, humanity finishes the crusade and GW goes out of business.

@@QTC1688 yeah i agree, but this is just a what if scenario so we dont need to worry about balance. Also i think you're underestimating how big the chances are in this scenario, example without loyalist Barabus imperium secundus is fucked and the tyranids would have never found the galaxy.

Jago also potentially had foresight, im sure there are others, I think most Night Lords repress any latent psychic abilities.

The Night Lords Killteam includes a "Night Lord Visionary". According to the associated lore, Visionaries are Marines who have a weaker version of future vision. it seems that Talos is not the only one with this gift. Its not the best source for lore, but it comes from GW.

Ultramarines' superpower is the power of analytics. Intelligence, ability to adapt. Most can't, but we have some that can and wrote the armor.

Isn't Wraith Slipping a set of skills taught to all Raven Guard during training to help them go unnoticed whilst Shadow Walking is the gene seed mutation that is incredibly rare

Space Wolves: as well as the Rune Priest thing, they also have a sense of smell far better than other marines, I *think* they used to be written as also having better reflexes in general. And the Wulfen! No idea about nowadays but if iirc the Wulfen change was a power that I think was originally written (?) as being something that emerged as a natural defensive mechamism against Chaos influence when subjected to prolonged exposure (such as the 13th Company).

Emperor's Children are hella resistent too, not like thar guard, but they can take far more augmentation and damage than other marines. Take Eidolon, as an example of that, before the fall to slaanesh.
