On a platform full of hyped up OTT fake reaction videos, what a delight to see your genuine kid in a candy store reaction. Like you, I approached this short film with concern and scepticism. But, also like you, I was blown away by just how good this is. Loved your including some tabletop footage and the description of how you experienced the same emotions watching the episode. That was this tabletop veteran's experience too. While Amazon giving the creative freedom for this does not completely remove my fears and skepticism, it did give me cause for some cautious optimism re: the live action series in development. No real deviation from the lore in this one. Quite the opposite. Loved it and you did a great review.

I love the little detail when the sorcerer enters each of the marine's minds, and you see their pupils dilate on the 1st marine and on Metarus ....all except Titus’s

Beautiful reaction & review! I felt the same about this being on Amazon. I didn't watch it on first release because I didn't want something I loved destroyed again. But, I've now seen the episode about 5 or 6 times and I loved each viewing, usually finding some detail I missed. Thank you for a great review! Subbed.

One aspect I really like about "Astartes 2" is the fantastic display of power levels. The depiction of the Astartes in battle as stone cold, brutal, unstoppable killing machines in comparison to us tiny fragile humans, and then, how those trans humans get fucked up by a chaos daemon (although it is credited as a sorcerer?). That truly showed our (human) place in the "food-chain".

Chaos sorcerer really didn't pay attention to who he was picking a fight with... like bro.... one of these guys is scared shitless of the idea of one of those three brothers turning to Chaos. Like... guy is not scared of Chaos itself, but what that specific brother could turn into in Chaos.

I just want to make one thing clear that I saw many people who play SM2 ore watch Secret level Warhammer think, which anoys me as a 12 year long fan of w40k, they think Titus is the mc of 40k Titus is a nothing. I dont mean this in any negative way. In reality he is nothing his existence and death would not impacted the setting a single bit. No inside the Imperium would mourne his death except his battle-brothers. He is a very cool character although pretty one-dimensional.

Quite impossible to transport the sheer vastness of the 40k lore in a computer game. I for myself started reading 40k books, just two years ago, my collection is now around 190 books, and I started with the really old ones which are no longer canon I think. But dude, after Gaunt's Ghosts, Eisenhorn, some Ultra Marine stories and Space Marine chapter books, I started some weeks ago with the Horus Heresy. I cannot describe the chills I had reading the first three books!
