@@pietroboggio8353 wrong, they are police unit. In old Yugoslavia "milicija/ militia" was official name for the police. Even nowadays in ex-Yugoslavia among people term militia is more akin to the police then to paramilitary units not under direct control of state like in rest of the world.

@arsic094
@arsic094 3 жыл бұрын
We had no mob bosses here until it all broke down. The general idea was to beat the shit of potential criminals when they were starting young and kick them back out tomorrow morning. No courts or prison involved for petty crime (the one that leads to actual economic crime). It was an amazingly effective system that we reap the benefits of even today, since we are some of the safest countries in the world. Not to say that organized crime doesn't exist, but western type of gang violence is non existent.

So is he happy to be a part of looser organisation with its fancy Western equipment which cant save its own country?
@philipthepirate1762
@philipthepirate1762 3 жыл бұрын
@@postgradsibstud9321 Thing is that many did not want to save their own country and wanted to create their own, smaller countries which are not part of a federation. Many countries, mostly western were very happy to quickly support the separatist factions and they did very little to try to force all sides to work on a peaceful solution before things went passed the point of no return. I (my entire family as well) understand all sides and my family is not ethnically homogeneous. I consider myself Yugoslav - my country is gone but I love all of the people of the former country and I am happy of every success of all of the countries that used to be Yugoslavia. Normal people, most people did not want to kill each other but there were small groups in the beginning that started the fire and soon many people were fighting, mostly for survival. If only Yugoslavia split like Czechoslovakia... Again, the question you asked, this is the best explanation - imagine living in a home with your extended family. You all live and have a beautiful multi-story house and you all keep it pretty and invest in it. One day, there is a minor argument between you and your brother. Argument starts small but it gets worse. Then a neighbor who is down the street tells him that he is right and keeps watching from the side. Then argument gets bigger and your sister gets involved, then your father, mother. Everybody is arguing and someone slaps someone. Then the neighbor quickly tells the slapped person "You should immediately lock yourself in your part of the house and I will help you, leave those people fighting, you're better off without them". And then, a chain reaction starts. Neighbor goes home and your entire family starts fighting each other, putting walls in the house, splitting the yard, fighting. At the end, everybody tells neighbors they are happy in their small part of the house. They keep living, hurt and missing something (more or less), but they are no longer a big family. My dad fondly remembers his colleagues, even the ones who switched sides. I have no hard feeling to anyone except the ones who waged war for profits or just do harm.

It's a true shame what happened to Yugoslavia. Where I live in the U.S. there are a surprising number of Slavic immigrants, many of whom came from parts of that region or are descended from those who did immigrate. How the former country imploded and consumed itself doesn't make any logical sense.

Friend, no offense but you have no idea what you are talking about, yugoslavia was a state of serbian hegemony forcefully created after both world wars, both times it emploded on itself, such a state will never work, especially not under an authoritarian regime

Ah the 80's where dropkicking doors and doing barrel rolls were probably impractical but just plain badass. Actually it might be practical, the enemy will be surprised and amazed by how you kicked down the door so hard that he'll stop doing what he was doing which gives you plenty of time beat him up.

you still roll while in combat. You fire a few shots and then you roll so you have some more chance to confuse the enemy and not get hit when you get up to change position.
