She was very active in the Civil Rights movement in the 60s and made many appearances with Dr. Martin Luther King. She sang at the funeral of Dr. King and she sang at President Obama’s inauguration. She was an amazing person. At this appearance, which was in 2015, she was very ill and had been battling cancer. She passed away in 2018. Thank you for your great reaction. THE QUEEN. 👏👏👏🙏❤️
