Makai Toushi SaGa/Final Fantasy Legend - vs. The Creator/God + Ending

I decided to play this for SaGa's 30th anniversary! My favorite series, and this is where it all started!
I always found this game's story so fascinating and chilling despite its simplicity. It has given me a lot to think about over all these years.
Anyone ever notice the similarity in appearance between The Creator/God and Elore from Romancing SaGa? Is it a coincidence? Yet he even uses Left Hand...much like Elore's trademark Main Gauche, no? Hmmmmm...
I did not fall into the temptation of using my Chainsaw, but his death animation still looks like I cut him in half, haha. It's canon.

Thanks for uploading! I love this game. The GB version was one of the only RPGs I had to play as a kid. I, too, would like to see a modern remake. I'm also playing with the idea of using the assets and overall content to make an "homage" tactical RPG....

Yeah, I’d like to see a modern remake of the first three SaGa titles on PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch, instead of that M2 developed barebones port, which is scheduled to be released on Nintendo Switch in December 2020. The original English translation leaves much to be desired.

No matter how many times I got to this point, I personally would have gone through the door. Then again nothing is blocking it so maybe after a rest at the home base the group can go back with no restrictions. I've always believed that it was our own world on the other side.

Since it is SaGa’s 30th anniversary, it would be cool to see a remake/port of the first SaGa game. Title? Something with SaGa, like “Adventurous SaGa” maybe. Or an english translation of “Makai Toushi”. Simply SaGa isn’t enough. But it should not be “Final Fantasy Legends”. It’s 2020, it should not be misleading like back in 1989.

Nope they stuck with Final Fantasy Legend even though its acknowledged as SaGa since thats how it first came over to the west.

Love this series! I own 1-3 on gameboy and the Japanese remake of 2! It’d be cool if they did like a Saga Origins (collection) for (I guess the switch now) with remakes of 1, 2 and 3! But they’d have to remake 1, cause 2&3 already have DS remakes!!

Very mind-boggling ending. When they said, "To our world" did they mean Us the player finishing the game? Or did it mean the characters returning back home and leaving Paradise behind? What if true Paradise was beyond that door? Agh!

I know, right? I think about this game's story ALL the time. It's so simple, yet powerful, especially for its time. I always got the feeling they were talking about their own world at the base of the tower, but that the door to "paradise" DOES lead to OUR world. And the Creator is from there. Kind of like Star Ocean 3's twist done 20 years earlier.

Sigh...with how much more prevalent actual dungeon crawlers are nowadays, this game could have received a very favorable reception to a remake. So many unanswered questions~

@@valdegard it follows that a decent world without an evil creator toying with everyone would be paradise. Being separated from all of your friends, family, and sentimental experiences in locations does not sound like paradise to me.
