theres also a pillbox at the end (the tall mountain on your left go up there and you'll find it)

This is most definitely one of the safer and more chill hikes on the island.. as long as you stay on the trail. Those little tide pools and waves can get dangerous.🤙

Yeah I totally agree! Such a chill hike! The tidepools are a different story for sure!

Thanks for showing us the bonus trail. What I've noticed about Hawaii weather is that it is unpredictable, sometimes it pours rain and other times it is super windy. Should one worry about that, or should think about that, before one goes down the steep bonus trail?

Yeah the weather is totally unpredictable that even our News Weather forecasters cannot give an accurate reading lol I would say just show up and use your best judgement when you arrive to the beginning of the trail!

Been to the lighthouse hike several times, but never went down to the tidepools. Very nice and scenic hike.

There are many people who go over the railings to get close for a photo but I would advise not to do so since you have a high risk of falling off the cliff. Stay safe and make good decisions!
