Yeah! I also fell in love with this sound from Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed

I have been playing guitar since I was 15 years old, and I still suck at it, but I've decided to create my first “ambient” album, and I've been checking your videos lately, and they were of great help for me, specially since I don't know much about synthesizers or DAW programs, neither sampling, but you make it look quite easy, thank you!

awesome! glad to hear the videos have helped. best of luck in your ambient productions. keep plugging away and it will only get easier. candidly, much easier then learning an instrument!

Oh yesss! Awesome video as always, love it! 🖤🎶 I played Porsche Challenge when I was a kid. Didn't played the race mode, but the time mode and just enjoyed the San Francisco type level. Such a simple, but wonderful life back in the days! ^^

Great work, really hit the vibe. I'd love to see a horror game "Save room" theme creation/breakdown. Resident Evil and I think Fatal Frame had some themes that are uneasy yet calm compared to the rest of the game sound/score

Love the tutorials. Is there by any chance you have a tutorial on how to use ableton?

thanks friend! while i have ableton, im not well versed in it as i tend to use Bitwig 99% of the time. i do want to get somewhat competent in another daw for backup - so its a possibility!

Great vid, thanks. Why do you put everything in mono?
@Thought-Forms9 ай бұрын
cheers! i find it gives me better control over the mix. to that note, also mimicking 90s workflow - lot of people would sample in mono to preserve sample time, with the spatial element coming from external FX. i think you end up with a certain mix sound when you go this route

What is your compression goal, enhance or control dynamic range
@Thought-Forms11 ай бұрын
typically just to control dynamic range - but always depends on the situation + track in question

Stupid question: When resampling a chord and playing it back in your piano roll, obviously, you're playing it back in chromatically - how would you keep everything in key?
@Thought-Forms11 ай бұрын
Naw, good question! My answer isnt the greatest, but I just try to go by ear. in tandem, I try to ensure if im sampling a chord, I always sample the same chord across any instrument
@erlannderrantem697211 ай бұрын
Well technically you don‘t have to, you can always borrow notes from other scales. Certain intervals go with everything try taking a two or three oscillator synth and tune them to certain intervalls, like 5ths (powerchords), maj 3rds (think blues, maj chords over a min scale), 4ths (has like a asian sound to it), min 6th (it‘s the inverse of a maj3rd so it works similarly) and so on. Some intervalls of course sound more dissonant then others, but it might just work in context anyway. Just experiment with it. Btw the sampled pad is a sus4 chord: so root, 4th and 5th, those are least dissonant intervalls, so that why it works so well.
