Mark, do you think the pvc would support a dual tube bandset? Also, what is the absolute maximum length the arms can be on the W before it becomes too unstable. Also, I'm in the States and I'm not sure we have that same orange electrical conduit. I'm thinking about making one for this summer but I still need a heat gun. I tried heating up some white pvc and it didn't get very malleable not at all and got charred and blackened from a fair amount of burning trying to do this over an electrical stove top. The pvc I have is just a test piece at 1½ inch in diameter. I like the dimensions of the stuff you use far better, nice and thin for a comfortable grip.

I hope you destroy these after you post the videos online, remember we live in Police state, I received a $5000 fine and a 12-month suspended sentence in Parramatta court for a PVC slingbow
@markstuff6815 жыл бұрын
why? isn't it in the same class as a compound bow?
@lordrichard81843 жыл бұрын
I really like the idea of the sling bow. It seems way more maneuverable then a traditional bow and much handier to have if you’re on a boat or moving through the water

If you heat up the stem the width of your hand, with a thick cowhide glove, you could squeeze it to make a finger grip. Just an idea that came to me.
@josephdonais34363 жыл бұрын
A word of caution with this build. There is a very good reason to send the arrow through a piece of pvc or even a washer. Without this the arrow may be sent flipping end over end. I will not contemplate how this could be dangerous. I know enough after being busted in he lip by a steel bolt launched from a wrist rocket.

I would have put the real "slot" in the Front for a more positive hold of the real. Then the hose clamp at the Rear. The hose clamp would then Only be holding down the real and the main force would be on the Front Slot. Should the hose clamp become loose, then the real is still captured. If the slot is as you did it, and the clamp comes loose, There Goes the Real.
@imzardoz5 жыл бұрын
Yes, and a zip tie would look better than a hose clamp. Nice video.
@markstuff6815 жыл бұрын
that's defiantly a great idea! however the method I chose is still very strong and I cant see it failing anytime soon.
@itechhen3 жыл бұрын
@@imzardoz I disagree in that a zip tie would need to be cut every time in the event one wants to swap out the reel.
@itechhen3 жыл бұрын
@@markstuff681 I have to agree with archersfriend. Heck, you didn't get to this stage without making several refinements/improvements along the way and there's no harm in improving the design.
@itechhen3 жыл бұрын
@@markstuff681 additionally, I want to add another suggestion. Give the option of the L shaped portion to be removable. Maybe via pipe adaptor, I dunno? One issue to consider is to put the bend in it after the adaptor and then that whole part of the setup is modular without compromise(won't have to worry about it yanking loose by accident) in the event the reel gets a fair amount of tension from pulling on the line. The slingbow remains sleek and portable and you can then target practice in the backyard or hunt other game without all the extra bulk or slap in the bottom half when your ready for some fishing.
@Newsky7911 ай бұрын
Don't forget to push the button for slack before you fire or else the arrow has nowhere to go but backwards into your face and you die. Which is why this isn't a product on the market already :)
