Good idea. I have a collection of bug fabrics, food fabrics. Christmas and patriotic fabrics. I also like Missouri Star's "Stacks" pattern which this quilt brings to mind because they show it scrappy with white fabric. My grandparents all came to the USA from Germany about 100 years ago.. Hello from near Chicago.

Magnificent work of art. The layout. Of 3 blocks was helpful. I loved this pattern so much I stayed up all night making it. Not once but twice. Darks on one, pastel flowers. On the other. The sashing made it pop. Thank you so much. Great tutorial.

This is perfect for the stashes of fabric that I have that are coordinating colors and themes from different collections. I haven’t been able to find anything that had large pieces for the bigger prints to be shown off, with nice compact areas for the smaller prints and solids. I can just cut off a 5 inch strip from the fat quarters to equal a layer cake square

What a cool quilt! I think it's perfect for a stash buster or even entirely made from scraps but use the 3 solid focus fabrics and sashing that compliments the other fabrics but still shows the strips off.

That's what I was thinking too. Good idea to keep the 3 solids in a nice complement so the quilt seems to have logic.

That's a pretty big quilt, but obviously it would be easy to adjust the size by making shorter columns and less of them. I like trying different methods, paper piecing, applique, different types of templates, etc., and Jenny always gives us such a variety of patterns and techniques. The only thing I"m not on board for is hand-sewing - if a lot of that is involved, count me out.

This may be a beginner quilt, but keeping these little pieces in the right order is really critical to the overall effect. Because if they aren't all in there as patterned, the strips will not blend correctly. The long pieces bump up and down, and the accent pieces run along a section of the line that your eye will latch on to if the pieces are put in correctly. It's not pleasing to the eye if the pieces don't carry the eye easily across the lines of the quilt. Now keeping them in order is actually very challenging. I had all sorts of notes on my pattern when I finished. I am planning to try it again for a king using Venice. I loved the pattern. It's not just for beginners, though!
