Make a "Confetti Star" Quilt with Jenny Doan of Missouri Star (Video Tutorial)

Jenny Doan demonstrates how to make the Confetti Star quilt pattern by Material Girlfriends' with 10 inch squares of precut fabric (layer cake). For this quick and easy project, Jenny chose "Bee Basics" 10" Stackers and "Bee Backgrounds 10" Stackers by Lori Holt for Riley Blake. This quilt block is much easier than it appears, and it can be laid out in so many different ways!

Love star pattern quilts but especially love it when Jenny teaches us how to make a complicated looking block and She makes it easy to understand. What a great tutorial! I especially like the variation with the light blocks all in the middle and the darker pieces on the edges; kind of a traditional meets modern look. Don't even need to add a border, it does it all by itself! Another pattern to add to my growing "to do" list.

I love this and made one block to try out my color combination. My sewing group said this is also called Hunter Star block. I didn’t even see that but it’s one of those I never thought I’d be able to make. Thank you so much for teaching this!

I’ve always loved the Hunters Star block. There’s a great ruler from Studio 180 Designs (Deb Tucker) that makes a slightly oversized block with all the trimming lines for squaring the blocks. The method in this pattern allows you to make a scrappy star so both ways have their use. Beautiful quilts. TFS Jenny!
