That sets the speed of which the voltage is high enough to trigger the output and dumps the current to ground and whole cycle starts over.

Ya good idea, four players four switch. To do this, you have to connect all of the switch in parallel connections.

in this scheme you can easily make a dice with 9 positions instead of 6. A dice with 9 numbers is more fun with yatsee and many others

So I set up the circuit and the layout for number 6 and number 4 aren’t working. The group D leds don’t light when they land on 4 and 6 but every other number works fine. Do you know what the problem could be?

And now I’m seeing when I unplug group 5 of the resistors from the 10th output of the cd4017, 4 and 6 light perfectly fine. I’m not sure what’s wrong with the connections

I made this project by following yours instructions .. it is working well with normal push button . 👍 But when I connect TTP223 touch sensor module (at touch to ON mode) then the circuit is generating numbers in sequence (like 1,2,3,4,5,6) everytime... instead of making random numbers Sir any idea how to fix this ?

The 555 is constantly sending out pulses based on the rc1/rc2/capacitor values. In this case very fast. The 4017 can only start counting when it is pulsed. The switch allows the 555 pulses to control the counting on the 4017. Note that when then 4017 gets to output 6 (pin 5 ) (0-indexed, meaning 7), it resets the chip by pulsing 15 to reset the chip and the counter goes back to zero.
