Make a Doll Wig with Yarn! Wig Basics - Doll Wig Techniques #1

In which I show you all the basic techniques for making a wig for your dolls out of yarn, and how to make a basic straight-haired middle part style wig. This is a NO GLUE method!
Always be careful when using a straightener, or cutting with scissors or razors. Always do so with adult supervision!

Ahhhh....thank you SO much for this tutorial series! I have literally been scouring the internet for a week trying to figure out how to make and attach yarn wefts to a crocheted head without using glue. Like you, I am not fond of the idea of using glue for most of my projects so I had almost conceded to just using plain yarn instead of making my own wefts but now I don't have to! 😃

I do have a quick question and forgive me if you have addressed this as I have not finished the entire series yet; do you think it is possible to skip a wig cap altogether and just attach my wefts directly onto the head if the hair will be the same color as the head?

When I split yarn, I use a weighted bottle, securing the end of the yarn under the cap. The weight prevents tangling. It's fun to do ☺

Awesome video!! A little question - if I don't have a grooming brush, what should I use?

You could use a hair brush, but it might take longer and be rougher on the fibers, which might break the strands, so be gentle!
