funny thing... i viewed this and many of your vidsf when i first started leather crafting... ummm, im still new, as ive only been dabbling for a few months... it was way over my head at the time... sooo, i believe im ready for this next step... overcame the fear of stitching, zippers, cutting curves, wet molding, skiving, and finally attacked a gusset lol your vids have helped me sooo much... tyfs

My local Tandy didn't have any of the 3mm leather cord. I went to Walmart and found some 3.6mm rubber screen spline. The material is used to hold screen cloth in place in a screen enclosure. It is flexible, takes well to contact cement, and you can skive the end just like leather cord. Oh, and it is WAY cheaper than leather cord.

Believe it or not, this keyring was the first thing ever i made with leather and giving it to my wife. I‘m new to leather working. And i made a second one to give away. Thanks a lot for your video! Hello ftom Vienna

If you don’t have any leather cord, you can use Paracord for the cord too… you can thin out the ends of the Paracord by cutting some of the inner stands out and then pulling the sheath back down… I always have a buttload of Paracord scrap in my scrap box that I’m looking for things to use it for… now, I can incorporate my Paracord crafting with my leather working!

Well, I'm using 1.5 mm leather one inch wide and there really isn't enough to stitch so I'd recommend 1.25" wide and 1 mm leather thick. And I'm using 3 mm cord. Might have to junk this and start over.

Could you make a Hair Barette with a stick through it like they use to sell in the stores I'm in need of one bad? I would like to know the basic price of a starter kit is minus the leather to start out with and who has the best for the bucks?

Really like the design. But the ring looks like it might be a hassle to move (twist) around when you are threading on keys. Have seen this with other leather key fobs also, and it makes me wonder if people will find it a hassle getting their keys on the ring. Maybe I should just buy one and find out! LoL :)

when can we get the patterns for bags and satchels :(
@Corter3 жыл бұрын
there are free patterns for a few of the bags in the video of those bags, we also give all the measurements through the videos :)
@lisahumphries38983 жыл бұрын
Is there a reason that you (and others) cut the leather with the “outside” facing up? Meaning the side that will be showing is facing up and not down when you cut a pattern. As opposed to dressmaking - when cutting out a pattern, you put the material facing down.
@fakiirification3 жыл бұрын
certain leathers "mark" very easily. you can damage the finish by sliding it around on your work surface. So best to avoid the possibility of it happening.
