Make a Flat Pack Dobsonian Mount

I made this telescope mount for my friend, it is based on an Obsession mount which he owned but after 15 years of abuse and repair it had finally seen its last days, the only real difference is the material I've used and that this version flat packs for travel - he only uses this Dob for astro-camps so a little assembly isn't a big deal.
The mount is rock solid and very smooth.

Excellent and thorough video! Great build as well! I am curious though as I'm about to build a dobsonian base myself. I had the same idea to use a hole saw to cut the semicircle. After you cut it did you need to expand the size of it to beyond the diameter of the bearing on the tube, due to the ptfe pads thickness?

Hi, yes the radius of the hole saw was larger than the radius of the altitude bearing.

I dont think the original mount is an Obsession.
