My character-making process is usually: come up with a personality or trope, draw a design loosely based on the idea I have, profit off the new information I have based on how the drawing went

This helped me pick a pokemon for my own pokesona, thank you! I chose Bultund because I've been told my personality is a lot like a Border Collie (and my Bluey OC is a Border Collie) and Bultund also happened to be in my first ever pack of pokemon cards that I opened!

It seems I took the exact opposite route to you in making pokemon characters. I came up with my 10 favourite pokemon . . . and made ocs of them all! 😅 To be fair I didn’t want to make a sona in the first place, very different angles lol. It’s super fun to see how different people are inspired by the same franchise!

I really wanna make myself a pokemon Sona now- but I really can’t decide between Raichu and Breloom Yes, I know, They did a Raichu oc- but cmon- it’s a Raichu! How can anyone ever deny a Raichu?! Lol anyway, I really love Raichu, I’ve always loved them as one of my fav pokemon (along with Sceptile and Breloom) and I’ve always been really attached With Breloom, I’ve loved them sense I first saw them, they have that perfect mix of cute yet dangerous, and their my fav type! The grass type! So it’s just hard to decide- Sceptile and Sylveon also came close, due too the significance of both of em to me, Sceptile has been my fav sense I first saw them in the anime, I just love the treeko line, and with sylveon, Ive literally never had a team without one, so their a very important pokemon too me But I’ve come too the conclusion that while they’d always be pokemon I’d have on my team, they wouldn’t be a pokemon that I’d actually be

I Cant decide to make my oc a Vaporeon or a Sylveon due to them being in all of my Pokémon teams, and I just make the 2 into a fusion oc but idk yet

My two main Pokémon OC’s are a shiny chameleon named Zirai (although I made the shiny colors the same as Charizard), a vulpix named Diskar, and, obviously, a Gabite named Lukos.

My Pokémon oc would most likely be a yamper. I mean I do have a lot of Pokémon I like but I mean it yamper who can resist a tiny puppy size bundle of joy. Plus I have been told I have the personality of a golden retriever so it’s just a win-win.

To be honest I really did love the video, art, and how you expressed your ideas-- however I also wanted to ask how you go about just knowing you're able to break the rules for making ocs that are of more rigid species like pokemon :0? I really wanna make a sona or two that are pokemon but I keep on trying to stay on the line to the point I know I'm definitely screwing myself over creatively

Some things I think about are the small inconsistencies in Pokémon (spikey eared Pichu, that one eevee with hair over its eyes, the island that only had pink Pokémon, etc.). There's a lot of stuff in the show that isn't shown in the games, but it's canon nonetheless. If the show can have these differences, so can we :DD If it's something like marking differences, it's easy to say that a trainer dyed them, or maybe they used different berries to give themselves accents, or they just had a birth defect!! There's a lot of things you can do to explain why they aren't like the other Pokémon of their species :)) For me, Riley has freckles just because he was born with them. It's just a little goof with his genes :D
