Bushcraft and bubbles😂 love it. It is great to see people sharing knowledge to the younger generations. There needs to be more of us

What a wonderful educational video. I appreciate you showing up close how to weave. Really easy instructions. I don't have willow but am going to try with saplings of mulberry.

What a wonderful outing with the granddaughters! Girls are definitely in need of survival skills. My father made sure I had lots of survival skills as an autistic female little girl. Blessings to you & your family! Wonderful legacy for us all to learn.

It’s amazing that skills that were once essential for life are now hobbies to be enjoyed. We don’t have that beautiful hazel here but we have other shoots, and honeysuckle vine is ubiquitous and is commonly used. Now I gotta go weave me a basket!

Good times with grandkids. Some friends immigrated from Russia. Their job was to make this style of baskets for their village. They have passed on, now I know how they did it. Thanks. The sad thing the county just mowed down my willows. Oh well. They'll resprout in the spring.

We have knotted willow trees (knotwilg, Salix Alba) along the water at the edge of most farms. Pruning them for the farmer gives us a bit of money and the twigs necessary. It is a traditional way to get the production materials we need and the trees get a pretty knot at the top of the trunks.

This was great, thank you. “Never perform with children or animals”! I realise what I like about your channel - plenty going on, lots of good ideas, and all with minimum expenditure. A great recipe for fun and learning, rather than spending yet more money on ‘tat’! Thanks again! Les

Will weeping willow branches in the summer work for this? And what is the reccomended length/width of the willow branches

Yes willow will work. They will want to be a metre, at least, but not too thick

Thank you so much for this video. Exactly what I've been looking for. As you are weaving the two loops together, if the bramble snaps do you carry on or do you remove it and start with a new one?
@greencraft4783 Жыл бұрын
You just carry on, using the same pattern. I hope that helps. Glad you enjoyed the video.
