Top down and use DC to get a sharp edge on the back... very clever work, good design and appropriate selection of wood! :-))

I was thinking that shape wouldn't make a bad guitar body, maybe with a bit of tweaking. Luthiers are always wanting solid wood blanks - another income stream for you? LOL.

No doubt, Will. I've seen a couple of guitars with bodies that shape. Luthiers can be a picky bunch, so if you were to work with the luthier, there's certainly good money to be made - especially in inlay work. Here's a pic of a guitar that used that very shape. bit.ly/1sSXhDv

Would that make it an award winning guitar? You are right about the shape being similar. I hadn't noticed until you mentioned it.

Love the straightforward to the point style of the video. What were you using to polish(?) the trophy at the end?

+Zulu Daddy Thanks. I used Teak oil for the finish. The more coats the better the polish. Cheers Peter

Was the dust collection turned off for this project?
@cncnutz10 жыл бұрын
Hi Tom, The DC was on but everything conspired to stop it functioning properly. It is a 1 HP unit and doesn't have a huge amount of suck. The separator I have in the hose line needs emptying which doesn't help. Added to this I set the dustshoe high to start with because I knew I had to cut down 25mm and didn't want to reposition it later. The Shoe also over hung the edge of the material allowing more air in and reducing suction. It was doomed before it started. I do need to do an upgrade on my Dust collection but the one thing it does do well even with all its failings is it collects the fine dust which is what I really care about. If I had kept the dustshoe low it would have worked much better. Cheers Peter
