Wow what a great demo and all it cost me was time! Thanks for the info, I often struggle with fleshing a song out after having an initial idea.

This is totally a different workflow and way to create than I am used to. I am trying grasp this way of song development. ill, you move so fast, I have to keep pausing the video to let each of your recording steps sink in...lol. I come from a traditional rock band background, so all these loops and samples are a different planet to the way I learned to develop songs. I do want get good at this way of song creation, but it is taking time for getting my head around the technology. The transition of a guitarist getting together with a band hashing songs out in a rehearsal space to just myself and a computer... it is such a different approach for me to grasp. Maybe I should just make an album with you...lol. You do all the computer stuff.... lol

Funny you mentioned this, as I started my music on the computer with no prior knowledge about making music and I've gotten to a point where I would like to approach things from more of a "horizontal" approach as opposed to this vertical approach (which I've been doing for over 6 years by now). The problem with this vertical approach is that it's fairly easy to become complacent with your initial content, in this case whatever he's written for his hook. Once you start laying it out, your brain might start thinking the song is already done and that nothing needs to be added, so any additions or edits may not come naturally.

Great tutorial and song, thanks for sharing this 👍🏻 If I may make a suggestion on the song itself, I think a section where the tempo speeds up and really rocks out would work great somewhere near the end. The arrangement as is sounds like it’s begging to cut loose ala Foo Fighters😎 🎸🎸

Writing great songs, with melody is one thing. When you're only a melody creator, vocalist, lyric writer. Doing demos is impossible when you haven't any instrument expertise.you only hear melody, licks in your head. Programs with instruments are too overwhelming. What's an easier way?

Hello - Thank you for making all these videos, I have a question, any idea how would I do this?. Basically I play guitar and sing also and I have been making covers recording in the Samsung Note 10, the video quality has been great. However the audio sucks, what are my options to make the audio quality better? I want to be able to make the same video but get a better audio quality for the singing and also better audio quality for the guitar by plugging in the guitar also - Any idea? Any idea would be much appreciated, BTW here is the link to my youtube channel - kzbin.info - Thank you.

Yeah I’m a non Grammy nominee producer and even I know you should include your count in bars into your track that’s the hook.
@pete38163 жыл бұрын
In summary... 1. Write and record a chorus/hook. 2. Write and record the rest of the song. Who knew?!

This is good, but isn’t this just a chorus stripped down before and after the choruses? Wouldn’t a verse be a different progression?not that there has to be rules...
@50CalBeats3 жыл бұрын
He actually mentioned something about that around the beginning of the structuring process, this isn't really the final cut, it's just the bare bones version that can be further edited as necessary.
