Really helpful to see you write out each step on the stock as you progress through the process! Very well done. I have the luxury of having AutoCAD on my laptop, so I paused the video and drew a template as the video progressed. If there is any interest I'd be happy to share a PDF of the finished template. But your instructions make it so easy to lay out without a template! Thanks for sharing.

Agreed. I've also never seen your approach of cutting out the holes in a star pattern first, then hogging out the middle to form the knob. That's a LOT easier than the other techniques I've seen, and does not require a jig, etc. Nice work!

Wow! Well done! During assembly, you used two types of "glue" to cement components together. When you embedded and set the top of the carriage bolt in the body of the 5-star knob component, you used "something" that flowed out of a white tube. What was that "something"? Thanks for sharing the process!
@henryworkswoodandmetal4 жыл бұрын
The other glue was construction adhesive, thanks!!!

I gave these a try and even though it looks the same, I''m having some issues with the bolt. I applied the construction adhesive and let it cure for longer than needed. Now that I started using my knobs are not rotating the screw anymore (knob is gliding and screw remains fixed). This has been happening to more knobs the more I use them. So far 3/12. Any chance you faced his? And any suggestions on how to fix it? I'm planning on removing the "lid" so I can at least remove it from the thread it's stuck on, but don't know how to make it work.
@henryworkswoodandmetal4 жыл бұрын
The knobs have been holding up and are working pretty well so far, the only suggestion I can make is that when your assembling the knobs is to make sure you tighten the nut as tight as you can possibly get it and the other thing that will help is to use nuts with a nylon insert, hope this helps!
@yonachali38454 жыл бұрын
@@henryworkswoodandmetal Thank you for the response. I have already tightened the existing plain nuts as much as I could. I'll get some nylon insert ones and report back.
