Из таких грибов я делала подсвечники, раскрашивала, покрывала лаком( в детстве), а еще " создавала" музыку на папиной пиле, выгибала ее на все лады и пела вместе с ней. I was TOTALLY surprised about the colors just turning into black mud when you put the epoxy on them :( - I would think that leaving the mushrooms out in the open, exposed to the world they will eventually dry too much and crumble and fall apart, and so that's why you would want to put them in resin epoxy. MAYBE you could run an experiment using a spray that makes whatever you spray it on "hydrophobic" or extremely water repellant. I don't think it would be absorbed into the mushroom and just creates a molecular layer on the very outer surface that are almost like extremely small hairs that keep water from going through it and into the mushroom. But I don't think you would want to brush on the epoxy like you showed us because this would destroy the waterproofing layer... you would just put them onto your container surface and pour the epoxy as usual. (You actually might want to give the mushrooms 2 or maybe even 3 coats of the water proofing, just to be extra sure it works) I'm fair sure this would work, BUT you have to make sure you get a good high quality waterproofing spray... I THINK the company here in the States that I would get it from is 3M but I'm not sure if you have that available to you. But there are a lot of other sprays previous to this most recent version that did not work well at all.... they would only partially water proof this by acting almost like a spray-on wax, which doesn't work very well. And they seemed to only really work on flat, smooth surfaces as any small break in the coating would just let the water in. But this new type grows microscopic crystal "hairs" (from what I understand... but they don't advertise it like this) I thought I would share this with you just in case you ever come up with a project where you want to use organic inside an epoxy pour and you have troubles such as the color changing... :) Oh and btw I think this was BEAUTIFUL!!!! I REALLY loved the way the mushrooms looked!!! I see them in a forest al ot and would have NEVER thought to use them the way you did!!! I hope you're able to find this spray and make it woprk for you so that you can one day cast those mushrooms into resin and make them last hundreds, or thousands, or MILLIONS OF YEARS!!!! lol j/k :)

The colors were great. The texture and natural quality were a great contrast. I would like to comment on the kitchen. In the last video, when you did the remodel, I commented on how dark it was. Great table! It looks like it should be a magical chest holding something wild & ancient. How weird that, regardless of color, everything went black under the resin. Good thing you figured that out, or the table might have been ruined.

For the mushrooms, give mod podge a try. I brush it on paper before uv resin, so it doesn't change the color and it works really well. Your work is truly outstanding!
