Tilt is very convenient because it is easy and the effect is so-so.

I've been working my way through the different Blocks and Parameters on my HX Stomp to get a solid foundation on how to dial in good Stock sounds without too much effort. I just started exploring the Shelf EQ, and it is a handy tone shaping tool. The Tilt EQ looks like a very effective tool as well, and I now have a good idea on how I can use it, thanks to your excellent video. 👍

When I learned about the shelf EQ on your channel it fixed everything for me. I don't feel I need anything else for tone shaping although I have become a fan of the stereo Bubble Vibrato with lower vibe settings to just add some shimmer and space. I find I can just about get the Van Halen drop dead legs sound with that! Also great for some Zeppelin with higher settings!

Glad you mentioned the sound in the room vs the mix. Tuning to fit in the mix makes it less appealing by itself...

I primarily us the Helix for bass. What frequency could I use for the center frequency? The old Trace Elliot bass amps had this feature back in the early 90s.

Interesting. I have been using helix for years and never come across shelf eq. What starting points would you recommend for patches for bass guitar? (I play 5 string bass so totally different eq band to guitar). Thanks Jason.

Can the Tilt value ( the amount of tilt in either direction ) be controlled with an expression pedal?
