The problem with magnetic cables is - well, the cables. You never know the build, quality, length and well - just about everything.

The problem is the angle alright. So long as a product with a 90° angle toward the back is released, that would solve everything. I'm not considering that sort of product (that i just learned about right now, so thx for that) otherwise. Thanks for the video, i'll be on the look out for some once in a blue moon while i'm lost on amazon i guess ?

Hello Monroe, as far as these cable connectors go I have heard mostly negative and discretionary advice. The issues stem from having a bad connection (maybe not initially) and also exposing the contact points to debris. The information I have gathered is that having a high power connection on these connectors creates a possibility for them to heat up and melt into the electronics port. Having a wonky connection of course introduces a possibility for data corruption through the data lines, but I would be more worried about debris creating a possible short circuit if the open connectors are not kept clean. Also there is just the reality that USB-C magnetic tip adaptors or cables are not compliant with the USB specifications. Some Microsoft Surface products have these sorts of connectors but those are patented and implemented with the possible issues in mind when including that port.

This particular model does have all 24 pins though and the plug is intended to have a seperate usb c cable in use. So the specification should be semi fulfilled ?

Can you recommend any adapter that can be used for both charging and extending my mac display to external monitor at the same time. I bought one of the adapter, but it can only charge and cannot extend my mac display.

I'm not well versed in Mac, but I believe what you need is something capable of "DP Alt" - which is a USB-C adaptation of Display Port. That requires an assload of bandwidth and these cables may not be capable of it. Knowing what you're looking for - "magnetic DP Alt cable" - may help you find a solution. Good luck!

Does it only work for charging or also for Video Transfer (ext. Monitor for example) ?

I use a few of these but another brand GTbeans but mostly for my phones and my steam deck. I always try to make sure ports are regularly cleaned before using with steam deck. Use them also connecting to nreal cable to my steam deck a bit easier if I accidentally get up

There's a straight version of this adapter which does not block the button or the vent and can be used with the dock

@@Darkuni No problem. Btw does you adapter wiggle up and down in the port too? Mine does that as if the port was loose and also really hard to get that small plug out.

@@PenguinYayOne All plugs wiggle a little .. even the official one. I use a little tool to take out the plug.

@@Darkuni I meant compared to the official one. Mines rocks back and forth between the screen and the back plate. Only this adapter does this, the official cable is much more secure.

I set some up on my battery bank as well as my deck dock/ deck. The convenience on these works very well alongside the deck. My favorite attachments so far along with the deckmate

I have a battery pack and a standard usb c cable but my deck tells me that it isnt the correct rate to charge my deck, any ideas?

You realise you can plug the dock cables in the other way don't you. I've actually got some of these coming and you can get two types of elbow connectors, one plugs in at a 90 degree offset from the one you have.

So far it has worked with everything I've thrown at it. You should have no trouble with a mic.

the pins are only on one side, that why if you turn it do not work, because there is no pin connection

Sometimes these cords only go on one way. It depends on the type of magnetic cable it is.
