Another tip to try to get rid of brushstrokes is use a dry fluffy brush, even a makeup brush like a blush brush, to blend them out. Ik its a technique used in oil but it could also work for acrylic.

This is such a fantastic video. I have had to learn a lot of this on my own and I find that a lot of videos don't explain half of what you are talking about here. For example, some will only focus on teaching people how to paint and yet they will never explain how different brushes or even different types of paints can impact the actual painting. I have had so many issues with transparent paints, where I was trying to use them as normal paints and of course, I got vert streaky results and was frustrated. I am only really starting to learn how to really use and appreciate them. I am ok with transparent oils, but it was acrylic ones that I were miss understanding. You are such a breath of fresh air to watch :)

Loretta! That is the best feedback you could have ever given me. 🥹 I really tried to be helpful in this by thinking about what is never shown. There are SO many different types of acrylics that I think people think it’s easier to summarize everything instead of going into detail. That’s why I made this video. Thank you so much!

I've found gesso so useful simply so that the paint goes down thicker and smoother, since textured canvases/ungesso-ed canvases I've learned take waaaaaaay too much paint and don't spread smoothly. Drives me nuts!

It drives me nuts too! Even pre-gessoed canvases need another layer of gesso.
