Brian, so glad I found your channel. I’ve been playing guitar since I was a young teenager although never really paid any attention to theory or what I was doing, it was all memory now I’m 68 and have the time and the interest in learning Guitar theory and why things work the way they do Harmonically. Glad I found you and plan on following your lessons. Thank you.

I'm finally understanding what is going on and can play with it. I don't play songs much anymore and it's what I've always wanted. Brian can't thank you enough and all the extra stuff , tab, slow walk through, video playing with the tab. At a much well worth the low price. Hats off to you Brian ✌💜

Hi. Thank you for this video. Since I already know music theory, pentatonic scales, the fretboard, hammer on, pickoffs, bends, slides, solo guitar but physically unable to play fingerstyle. I'm a singer/songwriter and solo performer. Now I will be able to write and play more interesting accompaniments for my songs. These accompaniments are simple and will not distract me from my singing. By the way my favorite is Bob Dylan. Thank you. Gene

Awesome chords embellishment lesson! Especially love how you clearly explain the chord/scale connections. It's so frustrating when instructors don't realize how extremely important that is. Having all that detailed information now allows me to better explore and apply that knowledge elsewhere in my playing, so much respect for that! Will definitely be looking into more of you lessons. Especially on rhythm and chord embellishments. I always wondered why theirs so much lead lessons everywhere when rhythm is whats mostly played! Anyway thank you for this amazing lesson and will be looking for more! :-)

Only subscribed quite recently due to youtube's algorithm based on my other guitar subscriptions but I really am liking your unorthodox or alternative way of teaching. Your CAGED episode was great and this yet another that is not a 'by the numbers' way of playing. I really like it.

Wandered around noodling for a near a decade wondering when it would all come together. Then came the modes and finally the triads... this made it all click after I could actually play the triads and their inversions on all strings... Still plenty of room for improvement but I feel like I'm on my way!

For those trying to get a practical grasp on CAGED chords, this lesson is fantastic as Brian uses mostly “chunks” of CAGED chords for most of the song. One of the best lessons so far for learning CAGED in action, in my opinion.

That guitar sounds great. I have a D18, but they are reselling so high now, I may sell it. I bought the Alvarez parlor model that you recorded your earlier videos on, and I love it. It's not a Martin, but I paid $300 for it, used , mint. It is the best value I have found in guitars. Now that I am finally more solid on my 5 chord shapes, these lessons mean a whole lot more to me. Thanks!!

Thanks again, Brian! Some of these I knew, from my years of playing, just by their sounds --but now I know them based on the chords, & WHY they work, and can play them everywhere! Wow! You always take something basic and make it so luscious! Sounds great, and keep it up! (BTW, I will become a premium member as soon as I can play regularly and practice. Still recovering from major neck vertebral fusion surgery, it's going slower than I would like! Maybe I just need to resign myself to playing without EVER being able to see my hands... And maybe that's a good thing, to focus me on sounds... But I'll basically have to start all over. I don't know if it'll work. Plus, right now I can't even play my electric guitar because I can't stand having the weight dangling from my neck, even though I got a new strap before the surgery to make it more "comfortable," right now it's not...at all. Geez, so frustrating!)

I heard you say in your Carl Perkins video that you have never been able to play "fast" guitar. I think it's only fair that anybody that can play "slow" guitar as tastefully as you do should have some kind of handicap, so that the rest of us don't get too despondent. 🤘

So it's OCT 2020. What your saying is where your fingers are in any chord. You can play the pentatonic scales notes. That are nearest your fingers. At least this is how I'm looking at, what you have demonstrated.
