Great job! It turned out nicely. My wife showed me a photo of one similar and after watching your video I will definitely be making this for her birthday.

Haha, I wouldn't want to ship one of these bad boys. I'd check for makers/woodworkers in your area and see if they're taking commissions!

Do you have plans available. Wood used, sizes cut
@BearMaked3 жыл бұрын
Sadly, I do not. I can say I used pine, and the thing it about 6' tall. I remember the bottom panels are at a 6-degree angle, and the top are 10-degree. Well, I'm about 85% confident in those numbers.

Like your clever title: My brother made "baroque flutes" LOVED wood and ebony-He had a great sense of humor-He said he ws "going to meet mom soon", so I asked, "What will you wear?" (Old joke about when I was singing LIVE my welthy friends would never ask what was I going to SING ? THEY wanted to know "What I'd be wearing" . My brother and I always laughed about that-WHO CARES if you sound good, right ? I put on Bog Rock's "Nutter Suite" a few months later and started singing along with the track as it went by; "I come to you, naked and bear!" (It's called "I Still Care" but is at SoundCloud). I don't want a funeral-I'll probably survive all of em anyway; I'm a Taurus and we not only never give UP, but we're extremely determined ! i WANT a book case I can enjoy, and jump into when the time comes-a SHIPPING BOX TO BACK HOME! I'm a lady who loves wood-want a violin placed under my left arm and my guitar under my right-None of this hand-holding pre-arranged placement for ME! But PINE will be expensive-and shipping the old bones from California will be expensive! I saw a video of another wood-crafter in No. Carolina, who made BOOK-CASES that disassemble-or "reassemble" AS caskets, but I can't find him anymore! I've read the Bible several times , and I still don't understand why from "dus to dust, and ashes to ashes" should mean cremation-The Egyptians only had to cover themselves with CLAY and become lowered into the KILN for their final resting spots ? Being a sculptor, I kind'a like that idea-then the family can fight over the STATUE instead of little pots full of ashes, right ? ANY SUGGESTIONS? I'm "dead-serious" too."Grounded" one might say! Thanks for any suggestions "LyndaFayeSmusic@Gmail.com" Of course I pray for more time; ("My Dear Lord Master of the Universe" )

Do you remember how many 1x12x8 you bought?
@BearMaked3 жыл бұрын
I want to say 3, but that may be wrong, might've been 4. I think 3 works if you cut everything perfectly on the first try, but 4 gives you some wiggle room. I think. It's been a while so my memory might not be right 😅

Hello! I’m wondering what equipment you need do this, minimum, I’d like to ask my father to build me one of these but we don’t have very complex tools.
@BearMaked3 жыл бұрын
I'd say you can get away with using a circular saw, so long as it's able to tilt. That, and a drill, and probably a sander are all you should need. Other tools would make it easier, but aren't necessary.
@aggieledwell3 жыл бұрын
@@BearMaked perfect! thank you! we've got a circular saw! tysm for you're time!
@MotherHemCreations4 жыл бұрын
What kind of wood and how much did you use? I see all of the stuff we need but not that as well as the cut list.
@BearMaked4 жыл бұрын
It's pine. If you're going to burn it like that, pine or cedar, or another soft wood is best. As far as how much, I don't recall, and I didn't really have plans for it, so I don't think I can give a helpful answer to that.😅

What are the dimensions for the pinewood? I'm looking to build this and have no clue what size to get
@BearMaked4 жыл бұрын
The boards were labeled as 1x12's. I don't remember the length that I got, but I want to say an 8-foot board was enough for each side, and then probably another 8-foot board for the shelves to be cut from. It's been a while, though, so I may not be fully correct.

Hey I've been toying with the idea of this any way I have some joinery skills it's just the angles as I don't have a table saw wanted to use the miltre but not sure on the angles and I take it it's as easy as un doing the back and putting it to the correct measurement
@BearMaked4 жыл бұрын
I drew it up in SketchUp to get an idea of the angles. But yes, a miter saw should work, provided it has the capacity to cut a wide board like these. A circular saw can get the job done as well.

I've not tried that yet, but have seen it and it does look nice. But in this case, it was requested to be purple, so it wouldn't have been appropriate for this project.
