Спасибо, интересный разбор. На FL-studio есть интересный инструмент ogun, а в нём spectral drone - он довольно хорошо ложится в стиль Акиры Ямаоки

Nice work man! Love how you achieved these textures from scratch, although the majority of Yamaoka's pads/ambiences were done using band-passed resampling...much less work 🤣. The inspiration came from industrial/ trip hop bands like Portishead and DJ Krush, who heavily relied on it (I grew up in the 90's and everything was sampled). These sound really great but you can get the same results by making your own textures and resampling, adding a band-pass filter to the low-mids, and a mostly wet reverb...I did it in my silent hill video kzbin.info/www/bejne/gn-pZniebtOGbNU
@glueue Жыл бұрын
Thank you! True, resampling is the key here. Feels like a much more personal approach. Loved your video!

Amazing man, silent hill's ost has been a major influence in the ambient side of my musical inspirations, however I've only made stuff that mirrors the trip-hop and downtempo songs from SH2-3. Would love to see you give that a try! It's a lot more melodic and upbeat but has a grain of silent hill's melancholy that's hard not to love. I even remember the main composer talking about how he tried to include electric guitars in the ost and the results were those amazing downtempo songs. The one I made that demonstrates this the most is this one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZDGoYmPbtWaZ7c

So here I was in the mood to listen someone wax poetic about my favorite OST, and what's this bullshit? He was influential, but only in the sense of his personal style. He sure as fuck wasn't innovator of anything besides his own style. He used the staple techniques of the time, and was leaning heavily into the genres of the time. 1 guy doing both sound and music wasn't unusual for the time, either. In fact in the 90s it was kind of the standard. One guy does all the sound stuff in a game, period. Maybe the most unusual aspect of this was in the Silent Hill is that it wasn't a complete afterthought for the project. Second, he used bazillion samples from VERY popular sound CDs of the time. If there's a synth, it's probably from a sample cd. There's bunch of videos breaking down where the sounds come from. Second, showing how to COPY some of the samples on a synth does not in fact help anyone else to make music like Akira. Anyone actually interested in the time period and how the sounds are generally constructed are better off somewhere else. From the top of my head, thought-forms has several videos that should Crack the code for the slightly off key pads and synth sounds for everyone.
