@@JI-ev9pp While most countries don't practice compulsory voting, several major countries like Australia, Singapore, and Belgium do. Their systems vary, with some enforcing penalties, others not really enforcing it, and all have some form of practical exemptions for age, location, etc. I think it's needed for America for multiple reasons. 1) America is losing its identity and its appreciation for and understanding of civic duty. 2) Americans hold fast to concept of rights and freedoms while having seemingly forgotten the numerous sacrifices made to gain them. 3) Americans pay a lot of taxes, yet there is a growing disconnect between the tax duties imparted on the people and the duty to the people borne by elected public officials. Americans need to relearn that the power of the people lies not only in social media and consumer action, but first and foremost in the power of the vote. The first step to setting America back on a path towards something is reclaiming the country's culture as a democratic republic and restoring the power of representation to free itself from minority rule and partisan tyranny that ignores the rule of law.

Something to think about next time they call you a cult: Eight years of George W fucking this country, and Republicans by and large decided "enough is enough" and went outside their comfort zone to instead vote for Obama, a Democrat. Obviously not the wisest move in hindsight, but the sentiment there was a good one. Four years of Biden doing far more damage than George W and Obama could even FATHOM doing, and they're going to vote for him AGAIN even though many of them hate Biden.

I think anyone with 20% in polls or more should be on the debate stage.
