No, you extract profit from people because you make them dependent on your products and gauge their eyes out with exorbitant prices and “cost of life”. @@jaesall3519 why do people buy new cars? Times change, safety standards change and in this case viewing habits change. Ramsey's goal isn't to make money hand over fist, it's to help as many people as possible and the profit is a byproduct. If your flagship product is designed from people over 40, I'd question if it doing what you want it do. I do think they've done a great job retrofitting into an old model honestly. The reason the US stock market is doing better than other markets is not that we do capitalism better, it’s the petro-dollar and the dollar as the world reserve currency. With a world that trades with dollars, countries need vast supplies of those dollars. So where do they store those extra dollars? Our stock market or other US based assets. This is why de-dollarization is such a bad thing. As money moves out of our markets, the value of your investments in those markets also drops like a rock.

I love Vivek, and im beginning to appreciate more and more Ramsey's advice and the way he orders himself financially. That being said, i feel there is a need for nuance concerning what they talked about in the last minute and a half or so. Making yourself invaluable to a company via volunteering only works with companies whose perspective is down to earth enough to have it's individual members in focus. It doesn't work with corporations or massive businesses, who, arguably, would not be accepting of voluntary work anyway. So this is not a message to people who may think that they need to volunteer themselves at a fast food chain or a massive corporation like walmart. Making yourself valuable to a company only works with companies who are capable of seeing your value. Otherwise you will just be chewed up and spit out and treated like a number.

For awhile I genuinely had hoped he would be the President. I liked his no BS responses without the drama. He'd make a good VP.

With capitalism, you have a concentration of wealth by the owners of the means of production, and that wealth is used to gain political power. The power is used to reinforce that wealth through political power via laws to prevent competition and acquiring competitors to become monopolies

You just described crony capitalism. True capitalism prevents the concentration of wealth by competition.

Everyone can't be wealthy not because the opportunity is not there but because people are unequally unwilling to do what is required to become such.

Truth is, a 10% increase in sales per year to please shareholders on a publicly traded platform is unustainable. It is destined to collapse. That's a fact. Even a 1 billion profit year is considered a loss if it turns out to be a "stable" year since they did not hit their mark. Then said company cuts salary, jobs, quality and begins to liquidate assets. Ps. Nice to see vivik mention this with crony capitalism. Thats what publicly traded companys turn "investors" into.
