Thanks🙂. I use cut tool. You have to be in vertex edit mode to use it. It is in edit vertices tab on the right

select faces you want to flatten, and then in edit geometry click on Z. Faces will flatten in Z axis

I am a noob trying to replicate samurai siege style renders but suck at modelling and setting up lighting with arnold. It would be handy if there was a vid showing how you would personally create that sort of render showing your workflow.
