Thanks a lot, very nice tutorial. Could this be applied also to a waterfall simulation?

Thank you Evan, this is perfect !... Very good tute, but i am wondering how i could do the same thing with the associated WhiteWater so it loops seamless like the fluid does? Or should i render the whitewater particles directly from the new cache loop your technique provided me with? And how in there should i use the whitewater source node to generate that matching whitewater loop ? Thanks for any info on this !

Working perfectly in my own project, really appreciate! But I'm wondering does the loopable animation has to be half of the total frame of the origin one?
@evanrudefx2 жыл бұрын
no, but you risk seeing it "skip" or it won't look as seamless.

Hey mate, incredible tutorial thanks! Have a slight issue when I export to alembic.. Get this weird geometry overlap at the times where I've keyframed the threshold, everything loops, but it's like the particles haven't deleted in these areas, any ideas?

How can you add ID attribute after already caching the huge flip tank but you didn't tick the Add ID box on FLIP solver ;(.....
@evanrudefx3 жыл бұрын
If your point number is not changing, you can do it in a wrangle with "i@id = @ptnum;". But then you might as well just use "ptnum" instead of id. If your point number is changing, there really isn't a way to do it because as soon as your point count changes the id attribute will get offset, and the whole process wont work as well. you might get it to work, but you will see weird popping most likely.

Is looping possible in VDB? I can't seem to get the VDB ID settings to work using Group Expressions.
@evanrudefx Жыл бұрын
not really sure what you mean but you can loop something that is a vdb, like a smoke sim. I am not sure what you mean, but based on your comment I don't think it would work the way you think it does. Sounds like you are trying to group vdbs using the group expression?
