I agree. There is no 'sad and down' in Venson's joyful musicality. Maybe it's 'blues with hope'. it's fine pop-`melodic as heck. 'Discovering' Venson is like when I 'discovered' other great originals, like Prince, Stevie Wonder, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jean Luc Ponty, Pat Metheny, Cream, Yardbirds, Return To Forever, etc. etc. etc. and what I mean is the Impact it makes on me. I love many musical genres, and Venson is inventing her own category imo.
