This is the best papier mache bead video I've seen to date and the beads look divine. Now to start collecting egg boxes. Do you use acrylic paint? I also love how you don't patronise the viewer. Keep it up!

Yes, Eleanor uses acrylic paint TJ, you can see more of her work on her website www.eleanorallitt.com

Thank you for sharing this inspirational video here 🙏 I especially enjoyed your sharing your workaround’s, like stretching your necklace over the container to better see where to cut the elastic. I’ve made paper before, so I have a dedicated blender (my dear departed brother called when I was making paper one day and said- you know that you can buy that in a store, right?! Haha), and screen for drying, etc. I will dig those supplies out this winter, and hopefully create some of your lovely bead’s. Wonderful video skills too! Ty for your generosity 🙏💜🌻

Yes please, what is "filler"??
@discovergathergiveartsfair8450 Жыл бұрын
Hello, I think it is wood filler, however try going to Eleanor’s website for more information www.eleanorallitt.com/

If I can make a suggestion. Get a piece of wood, I’d say a square. Possibly 4 inches high, with something on the bottom (like plywood) and have that 2 or 3 inches wider than the block and attach them with screws. That wider piece will make the wooden block more stable and less likely to taint over. Draw lines to find center. Sand out a impression in the very center. The beads will rest there. You can hold the bead in one hand and use the other hand to work the lever that will bring the drill down. No real worry of drilling into a palm or finger. I love the beads. I’ll have to give it a go.

Just a question: Would it not be easier to make a hole before it dries? Thanks
@discovergathergiveartsfair845010 ай бұрын
I think that Eleanor finds it easier to make the holes later to get an accurate diameter for stringing

Interesting video and I'd like to try this but the artist won't tell what the filler is - she calls it her "secret ingredient" Disappointing.
@laughinglark Жыл бұрын
I was curious and did a bit of googling. I believe that she is referring to wood filler, which can come in a powdered form. I don't think that she was trying to be mysterious; that might just be what she calls it. I'm eager to try this, after I go to a hardware store and pick some up. We don't use a lot of eggs, but I do generate lots of paper scrap from other crafts. I just need to get a used thrift-store blender to make my paper pulp. If using random scrap papers, you do not want to use that blender for food ever again, since the inks used in junk mail are not food grade. Hope this is helpful. :)
