I was researching mica powder for a project I'm planning, and came across your vid. So glad i did. I especially enjoyed "scoopity scoop scoop" and your happiness when seeing the colors first mixed. You seem like a real nice human being to be around, thank you for sharing a little of yourself with us.

I really like the idea of using plain paper then glazing them with gorgeous colours. I live in Europe and just googled the French Decopatch…it’s sold online in my country so I will order some and mix with micro powders I have bought online ( eBay I think. It was a while ago!) The description of Decopatch is that it gives a ‘satin’ finish. I’m wondering since it isn’t as glossy as Triple Thick, if my beads will turn out as shiny as yours?🤔🤔🤔. Would you happen to know? I’m so glad this video came up in my feed because I bought a lot of powders a few years ago, thinking I would make spray ones to use in my projects, but never did. TFS, xx

You can also use inexpensive eyeshadow pallets instead of mica. They aren't 100% mica but they get the job done. Of course, using products like pearl ex will give you a much more vibrant color.

Thank you for this video! I have a lot of mica powders that I need to use! I use to use the on the surface of my polymer clay tiles for a metallic look but haven't done that for awhile. Still tempted at that lovely big box though :). The glazes are lovely.

Thank you for your videos, they are really awsome and informative! I am curious, if you put the lid back on the little jar will it keep your glue/glaze + mica powder mix wet for use another day or does it dry in the little jar? That would be a great way to preserve your mix to be used elsewhere.
@SqueakerChimp10 ай бұрын
You are very welcome and thank you for your lovely comments. I replaced the lids and it kept the glazes useable for several months which was great. Plus they were in small batches so minimal waste.

Thank u for your videos. They're so informative. Do u dip your beads in anything to seal them before u color? I dip mine in wood petrifier to seal them inside and out before I glaze. I was just wondering if it would affect the colors.
@SqueakerChimp4 жыл бұрын
Hi, so pleased you like the videos. I do sometimes dip in a wood petrifier but I would do this first before glazing. If you dip after glazing it will react and it could alter your glaze.

Can one use mica power for uv resins? Where it takes a uv light or sunlight I don't know if the light can pass through enough to cure the uv resins.
@SqueakerChimp2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can but I would make sure they are opaque, I’ve tried to make a dark pigments in UV resin and the light would not penetrate.

@SqueakerChimp2 жыл бұрын
Good question. If you have a pot with a tight lid, a long time. You could put a bit of plastic on the top before you screw it down. I try to make small batches so I don’t waste anything
