There is already so much content on these stock websites that it requires some very unique photos and videos to stand out. Not very likely that your average person is going to make much. It's an option, though, for sure.

Yeah for sure I agree. But also there are so many places around the world that are still not saturated. There are 2 places here in Slovenia that where not photographed but now I have, uploaded and making money from them on stock agencies. Everyone says that, but put the work in find way its the internet!

How long pending review status should take? My takes 1 week now for all my footage uploaded on Blackbox...

Yeah it does take a while. It can take upto a month some times for me. Just have to remember it's getting approved on 5 sites so will take a while unfortunately

Hey if you head over to Blackbox you can see via there settings can not be RAW and usually arounf rec.709 is something they recommend. Just allow some colour adjustment for the buyer to do.

Hi, I shot a clip on a beach during sunset with about 10-15 people in the background and a child in the foreground. I would like to sell it, the sunset is beautiful and the people are just silhouettes, but I am a bit worried if somebody can sue me for not having model release for those silhouettes. I think the people aren't recognizable but I am just starting out so I would like to hear your opinion.

I have uploaded clips to Blackbox and it was approved and shows online. Though i tried to find my clips in shutterstock video and pond 5, there's absolutely no trace of them, i can say with absolute certainty that they are not on these platforms. Did you have such issues? Is Blackbox Gloabal a scam?

I know it is hard but you have to use the description and also keywords that you used. Remember when you first upload you're on the bottom of the algorithm. You need other people to search you through different keywords and purchases to get your video posted to the top. It isnt a scam at all, are you part of the BlackBox Global facebook group? Maybe it is metadata that you're putting in that doesn't work well

Ahhh who knows. I dont make a lot of money. But people that do it seriously with research etc into each clip make a lot of money with only 100-200 clips. People say to go with high quaility and good metadata

Maybe put something you have on Vimeo and upoad that - they need to see a showreel of what you have to make sure the quality is t here :D

Great video mate. That was very new and educative thing for me. I had a question though. I wanted to know if I should sign up with my personal account or my company's account. Does signing up through a company email reuiqres any additional info? And also by what ownership name would the footages be available on the agencies' site, Blackbox or us?

Sign up with either it wouldnt matter, no that is the main downfall from now, it all goes under blackbox name - so if the footage is important to you just upload it to each site under your name

I just sign up on Blackbox but had not upload yet but very soon I will be uploading clips. Main focus on looking for right niche of footage to shot in my area (Huntington Beach, California)..

That's a great way to look at it. Like a little side hussle project in your area. Force you to get out and shoot - super cool actually and just goes to show you that you can do something in your area. People always say there area is bored or whatever - you took another and the correct approach! Great work mate :D

I heard other said that it hard to break into this, but you have to change your mindset and see what had not been Film here and from my last three days of research, I have found a niche that can be take with photo and videos. Plus my local friend have big contact of model in our area that I can use for my future projects. One idea I got from a photo of a person playing a game app on her iPhone, and gave me idea of shooting something like that but with video plus show one of the top game apps or other app that are trending. You got to think creative and think what really will sell by watching the trends and watch what others are selling and model after that idea with your own style. Funny though, I wonder if there was video of Vulcan hand sign and only few good video on Shutterstock.. so you never know, I will create on but with better background. I have to say you got great video tips bro and keep it up.

Dude, this is great I am going to reply to this comment but I suggest you delete this comment. Hahaha while your thinking someone else is doing in our world! So don't give people Ideas, shoot it yourself and sell it and make money from it. Because honestly it is a great idea. I just use the footage that I already have from vlog, holidays or short films and try and sell them on so it's more a side gig for me! Cheers mate that is why I started this channel to give back to people and pass knowledge on. It's super important and people need people to learn :D

Well make sure if you sell any of your stock from your Scottish content you spend the money on another ticket back to Scotland to get more content :)

Hey that is fine. Because you can upload in two ways. Commercial which will require a model or property release. But editorial doesnt need a model release. So you can upload the video as editorial and it will be fine!
