Very informative video Matt. Editorial vs Commercial? Does Editorial content sell?

I tried joining stock footage websites and they all rejected everything I sent. Seems like a huge investment of time and effort just to get in the door.

maybe the next video matt can do is how to get in the door, i tried to sign up for alot of these sites and could not find an easy way to sign up

Hi Matt thanks for this, when you are uploading to multiple stock sites is each of the uploads unique from another site or are you doubling up loading the same clips across multiple sites? 🙏🏻
@whoismatt9 күн бұрын
Most stock footage sites like you upload the same content to each of them, increasing your chances of making $$$

Matt! Thanks so much for creating the Stock Footage Jump Start Guide. Super helpful. Questions for you - In the guide it says you need to get a property release form signed for Famous buildings. What if I'm filming a skyline time lapse. Am I required to contact every building in the video or is that a grey area?
@WTCmovie15 сағат бұрын
Best to let Matt answer this, but as I understand it (from making a documentary) and assuming you're in the USA: "Taking photographs and video of things that are plainly visible in public spaces is a constitutional right-and that includes transportation facilities, the outside of federal buildings, and police and other government officials carrying out their duties." For specific buildings you plan to feature or speak about in a film, ask their owners if they''ll sign a Location Permission form.

Do you only sell color-graded footage, or do you also upload both color-graded and unedited footage? If so, which type sells better?
@whoismatt7 күн бұрын
Most sites want color graded footage but Artgrid likes both!

Hello, I'm trying to understand. Are the clips reusable? Is more than one person able to clip and use the same footage? I definitely don't have over 1000 clips. It's probably about 500 give or take. Would about background noises do rid the video of them and is the noise rid indefinite or the person who buys it can tgey retrieve the background noises. As you can probably tell, I'm pretty green to all of this. Im just an old Nana who happens to take a lot of footage and just trying to make a few bucks.

I have to disagree with the grading comment. As a user of stock footage, I don’t want a strong grade because it makes it more difficult to integrate the shot into my program.

As a human you seem to be so amused about it. It's crazy how some people like you can delight at the downfall of others, i suppose it stems from jealousy born out of a frustrated life. In that case my friend - "Get a life"

Maybe so. I just had over 3000 clips laying around on my hard drive and it kinda didn't hurt to upload them to Blackbox and not even describe and keyword them, used other people do do that and take a cut. They make me around 500 a month so I'm pretty happy with it, as I never hoped to make money off of them

@@BjornSummer 500 per month is great. but you are 1in 500 millions that make this money
@BjornSummer9 күн бұрын
@petrub27 i find looking into other peoples wallets and counting their money is a waste of my time. I did my share, already moved on to other business I have to tend to. 500 helps with gear and I don't care how much anyone else is making. If I would care, it would be a wasted life.

I can’t even get on Artgrid. I have tried twice and they have rejected me yet I’m on Blackbox and make over $1,100 a month. I’ve looked at the samples on Artgrid, I’ve shot similar footage!! How can I get on Artgrid?
