I like doing all that work myself. I can’t see paying someone else to just list my item and ship it. Especially if I’m doing it full time without other responsibilities. I save all the packaging from cards purchased for the cards I ship out and I use ebays shipping service that discounts the fees of shipping adding to the profit margin. I’m currently selling approx 5k a month on eBay.

Great vid. I have bought almost a couple hundred cards on there and haven’t shipped or relisted yet. I was thinking of sending in all of my “8s and lower” grade cards, that I think will not grade higher than a PSA 8 after I inspect them. Seems like a no brainer now seeing how easy the process looks for shipping to them and the lesser fees/hassle than Ebay. Lots of supplies you wont need... paper, printer ink, packaging, etc. 👍🏻

Yeah that's exactly how I find COMC valuable...All the perfectly centered crisp cards I will keep for future grading but the 8's or less can easily be sent and uploaded to COMC without the hassle of a trip to the post office for a $8 card. Our time is better suited for other things besides admin work

hey Rick. You got it, man! You determine the price. It may take a while to set the prices of your cards, but it's much easier when you send duplicates of the same card....all in all I probably only have 200 unique cards of the 861 I sent in

thanks man! I've noticed the inventory on COMC plummet on top players and cards in recent months. I feel like everyone is getting the rookies shipped home to submit for grading. It's an awesome platform for sure, just an incredible time in the hobby. Yeah follow SCI and others. At the end of the day, just becoming sharper and more savvy of an investor is the goal and will serve you better in the long run compared to chasing the short term money. Have a great Sunday!

Is it just based on value? - We all know the scammers in eBay where the buyer initiates a return of the card then switches it. Is COMC vulnerable as well to this scam? - Have you had any experience on buyer dispute with COMC? Who manages it, you or COMC? - Do you also send $200-$350 card value to COMC? I feel like I’ve made a mistake that many people should look to avoid. I had a ton of bulk base cards from packs I previously ripped. I spend a lot of time making sure that these cards were worth the 35 cents to list them. The ones that were I shipped. They were shipped current year 3 - week. I send about 4000 cards and it’s been 5 months and still not processed. Slowly they are benign added but just not selling like I hoped they would. I’ll be losing a ton of money to have they shipped back. If anyone would be willing to work something out where I get my money back and they take time to sell for profit I’m fine with that. Just trying to get some money back as I did not anticipate it to take this long. 🙏🏼

hey Sims thanks for sharing and being so transparent. I have been very disappointed with my 481 card 3 week submission not being entered in their system. SOme of the cards were AD Brilliance RCs, Lillard RCs, etc that would have sold for a premium in August. The shipping delay has been a huge factor in supply/demand on and off of COMC. I hope you're able to sell the cards over the next year or so. My strategy with Comc IS 1-2 years. Short term is too unlikely with a 3rd party platform. Hope to catch you on the livestream tonight!

I’ve found at least in the nba market it can be tough to sell base vets, base rookies can work, vets that are all-time greats can work but it has to do with the population of the card and many other factors, I may be wrong but all of my base cards I list in bulk I feel lucky if I get $5 plus $5 to ship them or I will list them on eBay using a drop down menu where they will be like 0.35 each and people can pick from a list to complete their collection I find that works with base cards. I like to use COMC to buy mostly and over time have them shipped to myself to do repacks or create a whole collection for cheap, this is a whole year later though I hope it turned out well for you have a good one bro

Sorry, haven't read all the comments Brad, but at 11:53 you put up the Numbers but they don't make sense you must of ment 481 at .50, but then the card count is off by 14,did they not make the system? No big deal I'm just into numbers, and trying to figure out if I want to send cards to them or just keep buying from them, and maybe you give these facts in another video, but of the 861/847 cards sent in how many have sold,and is there additional costs per month for those that haven't sold?

Hey Troy. Thanks. Yeah I meant 481. As for the total, I honestly forgot at this point. As for the sales, check out my COMC tutorial that I just posted. I sell typically 50-90/month but some cards I send in sell quickly and others sit and collect dust. It just depends on the card itself, # of copies available from other sellers and their prices, and demand. Low $ cards above $4 that aren't worth the hassle of manually listing and shipping is the sweet spot for me.

Just an update on this... Comc is a total mess right now. My month old submission hasn’t even begun processing yet. People are also reporting multi-month delays on shipments. Their eBay rating is plummeting too. Oh and no phone support... just email which doesn’t get responded to.

great question. Paying all those fees would suck. Fortunately, when you sell on COMC via eBay BIN, the same 5% fee is charged on COMC without the additional 10%. They must have a great partnership with eBay for this to happen.

Hey Chris. I'm not sure how COMC and eBay's partnership work but many cards listed on COMC automatically transfer over. They will send to the end buyer one way or another. Hope that helps!

Hey Brad, love the videos, if I were to start on COMC and began buying cards, though not getting them sent and just keeping them there, and then selling them lets say a month or so later, do I have to pay shipping fees on COMC for that card I sold sometimes, never, rarely? How does that work? Is the only fee you taken the 5%? There's no hidden charges? Because ebay obviously takes 10% at the end of the month on all sales, and you have to pay for shipping, so that comes out to 10% of a sale in reality? Does that sound right? Also, if you offset that by buying cards on comc that are higher end, what are you doing with those cards? Just selling them on ebay when ready? If you buy a few 400 cards, you don't pay tax on those when buying on comc? Thanks

Hey Joaquin. Let's see... 1. The only fee for selling is 5% and you only get charged shipping if the card is being sent to you. 2. COMC charges 1 cent per month for the card to be listed for sale after the 90 days but not if you have the card in your inventory not for sale (like if you have duplicates) 3. COMC charges tax when you add store credit so they don't charge tax again. 4. COMC also charges 10% to take your money out of their system...which is why I would rather high end cards get shipped to me so I can resell in person vs pay 10% for nothing. I have not requested any cards to come back to me yet from COMC. WIth such delays in shipping, I'd rather keep it all there and just scale up for the next year or so until I want to cash out with a few high end RCs. Hopefully that answered your questions. I'll have to do another video on this in the near future. Also, I only see new comments so if you have any questions in the future, just create a new comment since I don't see responses. You don’t have to add descriptions or anything. COMC will organize all your cards correctly. You do have to set the price where you want it though. You have full freedom to adjust the price at any time.

Hey Chad. They notify me that the order was received. I'm still waiting for my first batch to be uploaded. Right now, the current due date on the 3 week batch is 7/13 so I'll make an update video. I'm hoping all 861 reach their system but I feel like I have to give a 2% margin for human error. Sales are tracked very easily

Great question. I don’t break boxes so I don’t have cards that retail for less than $5 or so. I’ve heard most people donate them. Another option is to complete the set and sell that way. Any low end base cards that aren’t rookies or stars probably don’t have much value to people and aren’t worth the shipping. Sorry I couldn’t give you a better answer

Hey Tyler. You price them yourselves but it’s pretty quick. If I have duplicates, I usually list one at a time and then enter an amount based on what I paid, my belief in the card, and what competitors have theirs at. I’ve priced 100 cards in 20 min or so

hey Jay thanks man. Good question. Tomy knowledge it's just the risk involved. Since COMC handles mostly raw cards (thus lower end) it's something I have to account for. At the same time, they have been in business for several years so I'm sure if they were damaging the cards, word would get out and they would have to close shop. That's also a huge reason why grading is so big now. It bypasses a lot of the issues involved when sending/receiving cards. Have a great week!

Question for you regarding COMC. I just had my first submission processed but six cards were not added. I suppose they were not NM or better possibly. It says you can request shipment for those cards not added but how do you do that if they don't upload them to your inventory? I went to request shipment and it only displays all cards actively in your inventory. Do you have to request shipment of one or more cards in your inventory and then they will automatically include those cards not uploaded/accepted with it? I tried calling but they no longer have phone support. I sent an email but not sure if they work weekends or when they will reply. Just worried I won't get my cards back because of course the six rejected cards were all the more expensive older cards I sent them. Pretty disappointed with them. Thanks for the help. Edit: When I go to processing status it shows 88% and they have pulled fees for those cards that have now been added. Approximate remaining and pending quantity have never been updated. Maybe they just haven't gotten to my last six cards and they may still get added? Have any of your submissions been partially added and then more added at a different time or do they process/add them all at once? Sorry for the essay, haha, just new to this process with COMC.

Hey Mike. Very interesting. I have sent roughly 900 cards, but only one batch of 61 cards have been entered as of now (disappointing for sure) However, even with only 61 cards entered, it took a few days for them to get through the 61 so I wouldn't be surprised if those 6 cards just haven't been registered in their system properly yet. I am yet to request a shipment of cards so I don't even know how that works. My plan is to scale up to a few under priced, high end cards to be shipped my way instead of cashing out and taking the 10% cut. I wish I knew more. Maybe when they get through my other 3 orders, I can update you. Let me know if you hear anything (write in a new comment so I get notified of it )

The math doesn't seem to add up to me. You're paying a listing fee of at least $0.35. They charge 5% of a sale. Then you're getting hit with another 10%. Not to mention if you pay a higher price to get the card listed quicker. So basically, you're getting charged a little over 15% for them to sell your card. If I upload the card myself it's instant, I don't need to wait weeks for it to be displayed and I am only charged 10% if the buyer is paying for the shipping. Please help me understand better.

Hey Anthony sure man and great question. What’s your time worth? I went to the post office once vs 861 times. Plus not having to deal with returns/complains is amazing and it frees up more time to find deals and create content. I would never deal with low end cards if I had to spend hours packing, printing, and shipping. Also, it’s only 10% fee if I withdraw my money. However, when I use the profit to rollover to higher end cards that I find to be underpriced, I can have those shipped to me thus reducing how much money I withdraw. Plus I’m noticing higher sales prices because buyers are saving money from being able to keep it in their system and resell at a later date versus have to take physical possession and manually re-list which is not worth it on such low end cards. So if I can sell for an extra $2 per card on comc, it erases the extra 5% fee that I would be saving on eBay. That’s just my experience so far. :)

Instead of you taking out money and getting hit with a fee? I guess my next question would be do you then sell the higher end card on Ebay? I guess what I'm not clear on is whether you're only dealing with lower end cards for ComC and then using Ebay for higher end cards. Because if that is the case, then that would lead me to believe not many high end cards are on ComC for you to buy instead of cashing out the money. I signed up and am checking their database now. If you're trying to make fast money, then COMC isn't going to be your thing. Its better for turning cards you don't want into cards that you do, and doing some flipping in between to offset your fees. A great deal of the transactions on there take place south of $1.

There are a lot of chiselers on COMC. They make lowball offers and will walk away over a fricken quarter. I hate chiselers and cheapskates. If you can't afford the hobby , take up something you can afford like collecting rocks.

hey Mike. haha yeah I get those all the time. There is a setting in COMC that allows us to automatically reject offers less that a certain % which I set to 95%. The good thing is that with low end raw cards on COMC, kids can get on and start investing kind of like a fun little stock market

Between the video and the comments seems like selling through COMC is not worth unless you 1. are trying to flip long term, 2. You are selling cards that cost more than $5 at least, cause if one its trying to get rid of cards like I do 2014-15 NBA hoops base cards, who know how long I would have to wait to actually sell them + that I will get charged 0.35 per card, I have like 1000+ I cant afford $350+ to hope that they sell lol --- if they only took the 5% or maybe even a 10% when card sells then I would be all for it and I think more people would be sending cards to them, but as it stands base $1 cards don't justify paying that extra. I guess imma go to ebay pay 10% instead. if anyone got a suggestion or want to put their pinch of salt, comment!

Great points Daniel. Yes, 99% of the cards I have listed are $5+ because of the extra fees. $5-$10 cards aren't worth me listing manually because of the amount of time, but the sweet spot is definitely in that $5-$25+ range

COMC “sounds” good on the surface, but not so much. After the .25 per card or more to load them, when you finally get all your cards uploaded, you find out that about 10-12 other sellers have the exact same card for under 1.00, then the 10-20% to convert your “COMC” dollars to cash.... HARD PASS

Hey Bamf. I hear ya. For cards under $2-$3, it's hard to justify. I personally love it because of my hatred of packing/shipping/returns/etc. For $5-$15 cards, it works well for me because I'd rather use my time elsewhere. Where do you like to sell?

All i’m pointing out is this: Please show me how COMC is better or cheaper than eBay, other than not having to wait for payment or ship the actual card.... eBay Fee 10%, PayPal fee 2.9% plus .30 fixed fee.... 13% or so......ok, ready for it?? COMC .25+ fixed listing/uploading fee, 5% final sale fee......and......10-20% “conversion” fee to “convert” you COMC disney dollars to cash to transfer to your paypal account..... sounds like over 15% in fees on COMC....again......also, you dont have possession of your card(s) if you decide to keep it and change your mind, etc, unless you pay them to ship it back to you....HOW is this better!!?!?

Ok, so for cards that currently sell for $15+ on eBay right now, yes, there could be a positive for the reasons you mentioned. I just wanted to state the fact that COMC is not any cheaper or less expensive than eBay is all. It’s horrid to pay the .25+ on all your cards being posted up front and stare at a -$337 balance before you set your price on your first card to sell. and the Cash out fee?!?! No, just no. lol. eBay isn’t ideal, but it gets enough traffic and buyers that money can be made with the right listings and right amounts of luck.
