Love your philosophy towards make nine - it’s simply so refreshing xx

For future reference, Karina from Lifting Pins and Needles has excellent videos on jeans/trousers fitting, in fact, she’s my all round ‘go to’ for any dressmaking info …. Hope you find her as helpful as I do …. Hate thimbles!

I love that you used your Make 9 to plan for things you knew you were going to be working on this year. I don’t usually do a Make 9, because I make a lot of things, but I change my mind often! I also don’t want to toile every project - every t-shirt or skirt I make will fit better and be higher quality than anything I buy in a store with just a little grading between sizes. But for the right kind of project I enjoy the experimental and iterative process of taking something that’s okay to something that looks and fits exactly how I imagined. There’s room for some of each in my sewing practice. Those iterative ones are more like the writing/editing process, or high school science projects. I love the look of your Andie dress. I haven’t made that but I have been making midi and maxi versions of the Pattern Emporium Entice Me dress this fall. Including some different neckline hacks from one of their t-shirt patterns. It’s the most sophisticated secret pajamas ever. I have it in some neutrals and some striped rib knit so far, and there will definitely be more in my future. Perhaps I’ll try to hack the collar and placket look onto it next.

Thank you so much for watching! I totally agree on toiles and iterative sewing processes - they definitely don’t apply to every project! I would 100% recommend the Andie ☺️
