Thank you so much for this! The jameela jacket really speaks to me, and I have some teal viscose/wool blend that will be perfect for it. But maybe I also need a mustard yellow one! I can't wait to see which of these you end up making.

Giiirrrrlll!!! I cannot believe you haven’t made anything Sew Liberated! You probably know I am obsessed with all her patterns 😂… the Arenite pants are great. I have made a couple of pairs of the knit version with French Terry and with Fleece. They make great sweat pants and I love the deep pockets. I think you’re going to love them! Great Make 9, can’t wait to see these come to life. ❤

I love that you are focusing on practical makes for your Make Nine. I also love that you are focusing on new to you indie designers. There were some that were new to me, too. I am thinking about trying a "no buy" or "low buy" year for sewing this year. Can I do it?! Having said that, the first thing to do is get in the sewing room and organize my patterns and fabrics. If I do a Make Nine, I might match some patterns and fabric I have right now. We'll see. I'm good at making plans, but sometimes my teaching job takes up all my time. Thank you for the video, Whitney!

I think these patterns are well thought out and useful for everyday life. I really like the direction you are going in your sewing. Far more sensible than 'sewing the Vogue.' I also appreciate that you can make a lot of these patterns for anyone in your life. I do a lot of sewing for my adventurous adult children, including climbing pants, high-tech mid-layer hoodies, and lightweight wind/rain jackets. I make a lot of travel and activewear for myself too. I can see all these patterns would be useful depending on fabric choices and design details. ❤❤❤

I just made the Lane Pants by Sydney Graham this week and I am in love with them. I made a wearable toile out of some clearance flannel (grey with small rainbow pineapples and palm fronds) that had been in my stash for at least 4 years. I skipped the cargo pockets and the drawstring but no alterations other than that. They turned out so awesome that they are going to be my Christmas Day hangout pjs. I went to the thrift store yesterday and found a cropped Fabletics sweatshirt to match them. I am looking forward to wearing this chic but cozy outfit more than opening presents. 🎉. The pockets are genius.

A great practical mix of plans, nice! I'm always looking for comfortable but good looking casual pants too. I'm going to make the Pietras for the first time, probably more of the Free Range Slacks, and another Yanta overalls. Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas 🎄 and Happy New year 🎊

Hi Whitney! Merry Christmas! I'm coming out with my make nine video right after the new year and thank you for choosing independent pattern companies that I don't know about! Something to think about! I love your sweater you have on. I know, I'm sure, you made it and it looks beautiful

Hi Whitney, You've got some swell projects lined up! One of the new-to-me names is LeilaMakes, and I'll be checking out those pants. Overalls are great! I think you'll like Paper Theory; I've made 4 or 5 sets of Agnes PJ's, and just sewed up my 3rd Olya shirt (it would have been on my #mymakesforthemonthNovember). I should say 'go ahead and add to the sleeve length' here haha, I've added on twice, and they are good now. I've got several Sew Liberated patterns, but strangely have only made up one. French Navy is a favorite, too. I've made several of the tops, and have the Calyer pattern that I haven't tried yet. Have a wonderful Christmas!!

I love your list and that you're highlighting smaller designers, I'm going to check out quite a few of them. The only other thing to add is that I've found Sew Liberated's patterns hit and miss for me. The Hinterland which everyone loves was a super weird fit and I never got past a toil of the bodice (and I've since found other folks who've had issues with that bodice) but I love the Bedrock tee with a few alterations. not

Oh, The lane pants look nice! I have not worn pants in years outside of my home. I wear them in the house when it's a little colder, but I think I want to try to make a pair in these look very nice! What's the name of the pattern designer again?
